Job Summary
Provide strategic ownership, governance, optimization, and support of Allergy Partners' clinical and business technology platforms, with primary accountability for the EHR, Practice Management and related clinical applications. The role serves as the bridge between Clinical & Business Operations, IT, and application vendors to ensure technology supports high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.
The role will develop and manage application portfolios and roadmaps for each department and ensure applications meet the functional requirements of the business. The role will also supervise the application management team at Allergy Partners to provide support & release/change management for existing applications. Finally, the role will provide strategic planning for new applications and integrations ensuring compatibility, scalability, compliance & functional requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning
  • Own the overall clinical and business application strategy and roadmap.
  • Lead implementation, optimization, and lifecycle management of the EHR and other clinical applications
  • Partner with physicians, nursing leadership, practice operations, revenue cycle, and executive leadership to identify and implement application needs
  • Plan and design the application support team and processes including management of relevant vendor relationships
  • Assess new software products, services and integrations in support of organization's goals

Operational Management
  • Ensure applications support standardized clinical workflows and best practices
  • Manage relationships with software vendors, implementation partners, and third-party support organizations
  • Prioritize enhancement requests and application improvements
  • Oversee testing, change management, and production deployments
  • Ensure application compliance with HIPAA, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies
  • Develop application governance processes
  • Manage budgets related to clinical & business applications
  • Develop and communicate training and documentation for technical support staff
  • Manage and provide direction to the applications team in support of business operations

Other Responsibilities
  • Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines
  • established by the practice.
  • Completes all assigned AP training (such as CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, Compliance, Information Security, others) within designated timeframes.
  • Complies with Allergy Partners and respective hub/department policies and reports incidents of policy violations to a Supervisor/Manager/Director, Department of Compliance & Privacy or via the AP EthicsPoint hotline.
  • Maintain compliance with all policies and procedures, actively participate in enforcement of all ongoing Cybersecurity efforts to ensure safe and secure IT systems for all employees and clients at Allergy Partners. Remain vigilant and aware of new threats and assist the company by fulfilling an active role in observing, enforcement and reporting of cybersecurity incidents, efforts, programs and fulfill required training on a timely basis as required by frequency and due dates.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • 10+ years relevant information technology architecture experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field

Desired Experience
  • Experience leading EHR implementations, upgrades, and optimization initiatives
  • Experience working with AthenaOne or Mod Med EHR systems Implementation experience preferred
  • Experience working directly with physicians and clinical leadership
  • Vendor management experience
  • Strong project and change management skills
  • Significant healthcare IT leadership experience
  • Extensive experience supporting clinical applications in a provider organization
  • Strong understanding of ambulatory clinical workflows

The ideal candidate is someone who has:
  • Led Clinical Applications or Clinical Informatics teams
  • Owned an EHR platform and its supporting applications
  • Worked in ambulatory or physician practice environments
  • Built relationships with providers and clinical leadership
  • Driven application strategy rather than simply supporting software
  • Balanced operational support with long-term planning
  • AthenaOne or Mod Med implementation and management experience

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job is a supervisor the Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) department.
Physical Demands
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
