Job Description
The Manager of Sales Development leads and coaches the Sales Development team to drive consistent top of funnel pipeline growth. They oversee daily execution, performance metrics, and process adherence while partnering with Sales and Marketing to align outreach strategies and lead handoff. This role focuses on improving productivity, conversion rates, and readiness across the sales development function.
What You'll Do
  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs), fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Coach team members through individual and group training sessions focused on prospecting techniques, messaging, objection handling, lead qualification, and meeting generation.
  • Establish performance expectations and monitor individual and team results against pipeline, activity, conversion, and revenue-related metrics.
  • Develop and implement outbound prospecting strategies to increase new business opportunities and support revenue growth objectives.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to align outreach efforts, improve lead quality, and optimize lead handoff processes.
  • Analyze sales development performance, pipeline metrics, conversion rates, and outreach effectiveness to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage onboarding and ongoing training programs to ensure team readiness and consistent execution of sales development best practices.
  • Leverage CRM and sales engagement platforms to track performance, improve productivity, and ensure accurate pipeline reporting.
  • Drive process improvements and scalable sales development programs that increase efficiency, effectiveness, and growth.

Experience and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 4+ years of experience leading sales development, business development, or lead generation teams in a SaaS or technology-driven environment. Demonstrated success managing high-performing teams focused on pipeline generation and revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of outbound prospecting, lead qualification, account development, and sales engagement strategies.
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce and sales engagement tools such as Outreach, Salesloft, or similar technologies.
  • Proven ability to analyze performance metrics, identify trends, and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Experience partnering effectively with Sales leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and talent development skills.
