Job Summary:
MDAEdge is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior VB.NET Developer to join their IT Applications Development team. This role is focused on redesigning, rewriting, and supporting legacy and new applications within a manufacturing environment, collaborating closely with both production floor employees and senior management to deliver effective IT solutions critical to business operations.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of centrally developed manufacturing IT applications.
• Rewrite legacy programs developed using obsolete programming languages into modern .NET-based applications.
• Collaborate directly with manufacturing floor staff and leadership teams to understand requirements and implement effective solutions.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and integrations across multiple databases including Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL, and Access DB.
• Convert Access databases to MySQL and migrate legacy VB applications to .NET.
• Deliver digital reporting dashboards and other analytical tools (e.g., Digital Moonshine applications).
• Maintain and support existing applications, performing break/fixes and enhancements as needed.
• Identify and report risks effectively, and offer recommendations using available business resources.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 4–7 years of experience in VB.NET (preferably version 11.0).
• Proficient in Visual Basic 6, VB.NET, C#.NET, and MS Office VBA.
• Strong experience with SQL, stored procedures, and relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL, and Access DB.
• Demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing environment and understanding shop floor IT needs.
• Strong team orientation with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal in English).
• Experienced in developing and supporting applications in a client/server environment interacting with various databases.
Preferred:
• Experience with digital reporting tools and dashboard development.
• Familiarity with migrating large-scale legacy systems.
