Course:Resistance Training and Cardiovascular Fitness

This course introduces the principles and techniques of strength and cardiovascular training. Musculoskeletal, cardiac, and respiratory anatomy are discussed, as well as how these systems adapt and manage the stress of regular exercise. Effective exercise programming is also discussed and applied to various physical abilities to develop a well-rounded program. Knowledge gained in this course prepares students for professional certification in the fields of resistance training and cardiovascular fitness.

What You Will Do:

  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
  • Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
  • Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Doctorate or Master's in any Health or Exercise Science-related discipline, AND holding NSCA CSCS certification.
  • Minimum: Master's in any field with 18 graduate credit hours in Health or Exercise Science, AND holding NSCA CSCS certification.
