Job description

Job Title: Registered Nurse โ€“ GI Lab / Endoscopy

Location: Hyannis, Massachusetts 02601
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Day Shift | 40 Hours/Week
Shift Times: Rotating Start Times

  • 7:00 AM โ€“ 3:30 PM
  • 8:30 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM
  • 9:00 AM โ€“ 5:30 PM
Compensation
  • Weekly Pay: $2,700 โ€“ $2,800 (based on experience)
Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a GI Lab/Endoscopy assignment in Hyannis, MA. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care throughout the pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure phases while supporting gastroenterology and endoscopy procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The ideal candidate will have recent endoscopy experience, strong procedural nursing skills, and the ability to provide exceptional patient-centered care across all age groups.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver total nursing care for patients undergoing GI and endoscopy procedures
  • Perform patient assessments and provide patient/family education throughout all phases of care
  • Administer medications safely, including moderate sedation under physician direction
  • Assist physicians during procedures including:
    • Colonoscopy with polypectomy
    • Biopsies
    • Esophageal dilations
    • Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) procedures
    • Banding procedures
    • Electrocautery procedures including APC, clipping, and subcutaneous injections
  • Conduct pre-procedure and post-procedure patient phone calls
  • Monitor and care for patients during recovery and post-procedure phases
  • Assess and provide care for patients across the lifespan, from infants to older adults
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Demonstrate leadership and professionalism while maintaining quality patient care standards
On-Call Requirements
  • Participation in call rotation required:
    • Weeknight Call: 5:00 PM โ€“ 7:00 AM
    • Weekend Call: Saturday & Sunday (24-hour call coverage)
RequirementsEducation
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Certifications & Licensure
  • Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Current ACLS Certification required
  • Moderate Sedation Certification required
  • Successful completion of pharmacology exam required
  • Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia Program or challenge exam required
Experience
  • Minimum 2โ€“3 years of recent Endoscopy experience required (within the last 5 years)
  • Two manager or supervisor references within the past year required upon submission
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills
  • Experience working in fast-paced procedural environments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and nursing informatics
