Job description

Competitive Range Solutions requires the expertise of a talented and experienced Senior Network Engineer to assist in the direction and management of the program's executive support group. The candidate must reference their ability and experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) customer environment and effective integration with a government multi-contractor team.

The Senior Network Engineer will be critical in maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing our network infrastructure, focusing on urgent break-fixes and high-priority requirements. The candidate must have a deep understanding of network connectivity across various classification levels and be committed to excellent responses to incidents affecting mission-critical operations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in the Rapid Response Team to conduct urgent break-fixes and fulfill requirements in response to incidents. Prioritize and respond to incidents with the understanding that less than 5% of typical incidents are classified as urgent.
  • Manage network connectivity at all VIP/General Officer quarters within the scope of responsibility. Ensure readiness for VIP visits and support high-priority requirements in these locations.
  • Implement and manage network connectivity and transport across all classification levels. This includes managing and installing encryption devices, VoIP and VoSIP devices, and auxiliary power equipment (e.g., UPS).
  • Oversee life-cycle maintenance for all transport devices and supporting equipment. Ensure all installations, maintenance, and removals are conducted according to approved standards and architectural drawings.
  • Manage and perform patching and cabling for devices in VIP/GO quarters.
  • Assist the Crisis Management Teams in managing cost transfers and updating user agreements with the customer base.
  • Prepare the Rapid Response Team Monthly Report detailing work performed, including man-hours and materials spent supporting the month's requirements.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a proven track record in rapid response and high-priority incident management.
  • Familiar with the duties of the JNOSC Core Engineering Team, Service Restoral Team, TACLANE Team, Service Response Team, and MAC Team.
  • Experience in managing network connectivity and transport across different classification levels.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of encryption devices, VoIP and VoSIP devices, and auxiliary power equipment.
  • Experience with patching and cabling network devices.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer sciences, business management, or related field (Required)
  • Master's degree (Preferred)
  • One nationally recognized certification for senior network administrators/engineers/architects
