Based out of our corporate headquarters in Tigard, Oregon, this role reports to the Director of IT and plays a key role in supporting the technology infrastructure that keeps our business connected across the Pacific Northwest.

Consolidated Supply Co. is a fifth-generation, family-owned business that has been serving the Pacific Northwest for nearly a century. What started in Portland, Oregon has grown into a multi-state organization with 22 branch locations and over 500 employees. The company is actively modernizing systems, strengthening digital capabilities, and investing in technology to support the next century of growth.

The company is executing a significant transition to a distribution center operating model, including the launch of our first automated distribution center. You will help support this transformation by maintaining the network infrastructure that powers warehouse management systems, automation platforms, enterprise applications, and business-critical operations across the organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on networking professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, improving system performance, and working in an environment where technology directly impacts operational success.

Job Description

The Network Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and optimization of Consolidated Supply Co.'s enterprise network infrastructure across our distribution center, corporate headquarters, and branch locations. Working closely with the Network Architect, you will configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the network environment to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing connectivity throughout the organization.

This role is responsible for maintaining enterprise networking equipment, supporting infrastructure deployments, monitoring system health, assisting with cybersecurity initiatives, and identifying opportunities to improve network performance through automation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing, monitoring, and optimizing enterprise switches, routers, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and network connectivity across all company locations.
  • Performing routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, configuration changes, and proactive health monitoring to maximize network reliability and performance.
  • Troubleshooting complex network issues, identifying root causes, and minimizing operational disruptions through timely resolution.
  • Supporting the company's automated distribution center initiatives by maintaining the network infrastructure supporting warehouse management systems, automation equipment, and enterprise integrations.
  • Implementing and maintaining firewall policies, VPN connectivity, network security controls, and system updates in accordance with company security standards and PCI compliance requirements.
  • Monitoring network performance, bandwidth utilization, latency, and API/system integrations while identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Maintaining accurate network documentation, topology diagrams, configuration records, and standard operating procedures.
  • Developing scripts and automation solutions using PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies to improve operational efficiency.
  • Assisting with infrastructure deployments, hardware installations, capacity planning, and technology projects under the direction of the Network Architect.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong, detail-oriented professional with excellent troubleshooting skills and a passion for building reliable, secure, and efficient network environments. This position requires someone who enjoys working collaboratively, takes initiative, and can effectively support multiple locations in a fast-paced operational environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting enterprise network environments.
  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and enterprise networking concepts.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and supporting enterprise switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networking solutions.
  • Experience with firewall administration, VPN technologies, access control lists (ACLs), and network security best practices.
  • Experience using network monitoring and performance analysis tools to identify and resolve connectivity and latency issues.
  • Knowledge of scripting or automation technologies such as PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with hybrid or cloud-connected networking environments, including Microsoft Azure, is preferred.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent technical experience are preferred.
  • Experience supporting multi-site organizations, distribution centers, or warehouse operations is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
