Job description

Join a growing engineering team shaping the built environment across the Southeast.

Wilson & Girgenti is a full-service MEP/FP/S consulting engineering firm specializing in innovative building systems design for commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, hospitality, multifamily, and mixed-use projects. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, with an expanding presence in Orlando, we are seeking a Senior Electrical Designer with an active Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) certification to join our Orlando office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Designer who is looking to take ownership of projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the continued growth of our Orlando’s operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for a variety of commercial and institutional building projects.
  • Prepare construction documents, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
  • Perform power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, low-voltage, and emergency power system design.
  • Coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction administration activities.
  • Review plans for code compliance and quality assurance.
  • Mentor and support junior engineering staff and designers.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and client expectations.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience in MEP consulting engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IBC, IECC, and applicable building codes.
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
