If you're looking for meaningful work, opportunities to grow your career, and a chance to make a real difference in local government, we want to hear from you!
Do you enjoy solving complex integration challenges, designing APIs, and building scalable solutions? Are you ready to collaborate with a high-performing team that values innovation, reliability, and public service? If so, this is your opportunity to become an essential part of our enterprise integration program.
As an Integration Developer, you'll play a central role in designing, developing, and supporting integrations across the City's enterprise systems. You'll collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to implement API-led and event-driven solutions that improve data flow, system interoperability, and service delivery. In this role, you'll help ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our integration environment while advancing the City's digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable integration solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support integrations using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
  • Develop, publish, and consume RESTful and SOAP APIs; maintain API specifications and documentation.
  • Build integrations across cloud, SaaS, and on-premises systems using real-time, batch, file-based (SFTP/FTP), and event-driven approaches.
  • Implement enterprise integration patterns, including API-led connectivity, event-driven, and service-based architectures.
  • Develop data mappings, transformations, and integration design artifacts.
  • Implement robust error handling, logging, monitoring, and resiliency strategies (e.g., retries, timeouts, fault tolerance).
  • Ensure secure integrations using industry best practices (OAuth, certificates, secrets management).
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and release management processes across environments.
  • Monitor and support production integrations; troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, and operational runbooks.
  • Contribute to integration standards, reusable components, and best practices across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of API design and development (REST/SOAP) and integration patterns.
  • Experience with data transformation, JSON/XML, and integration technologies.
  • Knowledge of authentication and security protocols (OAuth, JWT, SSL/TLS).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (or similar enterprise integration platforms).
  • Solid understanding of system integration concepts across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience implementing API-led connectivity and event-driven architectures.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles and integration governance.
  • Experience with message queues, streaming, or event platforms.
  • MuleSoft certifications (e.g., Developer Level 1 or higher).
  • Knowledge of messaging and integration patterns, including queue-based and publish/subscribe (pub/sub) models.
  • Experience with automated testing for integration solutions (e.g., MUnit, JMeter, or similar tools).
  • Experience integrating with SaaS platforms such as Salesforce (e.g., Connected Apps, Platform Events).
Why Join Team Plano?
  • Work on meaningful projects that directly impact city services and the community
  • Collaborate with a talented, mission-driven technology team
  • Opportunities for professional growth and technical leadership
