Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Full responsibility for managing, developing and expanding the North American distributor network
  • Identify, recruit, onboard and develop new distributor partners throughout the United States and Canada to increase market coverage and sales growth
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to identify new market opportunities, target industries and growth initiatives
  • Proactively identify, pursue and convert new business opportunities and key accounts across North America
  • Manage and further develop strategic relationships with distributors, regional partners, OEMs and major end-users
  • Maintain and grow existing customer accounts while driving new customer acquisition and market penetration
  • Provide day-to-day operational leadership, coaching and performance management for the North American Motive Power sales organization
  • Coordinate sales activities, pipeline reviews, forecasting, account strategies and customer support initiatives across the US Motive Power team
  • Build, train, mentor and expand the current US Motive Power sales organization and distributor network
  • Manage the daily sales and service operations of the North American Motive Power business
  • Develop annual sales plans, budgets, forecasts and growth strategies for the North American market
  • Monitor sales performance through KPIs, pipeline management and revenue targets while ensuring achievement of growth objectives
  • Follow up and support sales opportunities from prospecting through project completion and after-sales service while interacting with key stakeholders and decision makers throughout the sales process
  • Liaise with various functions within the European headquarters to support customers, distributors and strategic growth initiatives
  • Play a vital role in the company's long-term growth strategy and market expansion plans for North America
  • Continuously monitor and report on market trends, competitive activities, customer requirements and industry developments
  • Represent the company at tradeshows, conferences and industry-related events throughout North America
  • Support and promote the company's corporate philosophy, values and policies
  • Utilize the company's CRM system to maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, forecasts and sales activities

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 5 years of successful experience in Sales Management, Business Development, Key Account Management or Channel Management within an industrial environment
  • Proven track record of developing, expanding and managing distributor networks across North America
  • Demonstrated success in new business development and customer acquisition with a strong hunter mentality
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing geographically dispersed sales teams
  • Knowledge of the industrial battery, energy storage, motive power, intralogistics, material handling or related industrial markets would be a strong advantage
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in sales forecasting, pricing, contract negotiations and channel management
  • Ability to understand industrial energy products, applications and customer requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong, professional and persuasive presence
  • Skilled at building relationships and interacting with stakeholders at all levels of customer and distributor organizations
  • Highly motivated, proactive and results-oriented with a hands-on approach
  • Structured, organized and process-driven with strong planning, forecasting and CRM discipline
  • Strong analytical skills and high proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining an effective team player locally and internationally
  • Able and willing to travel extensively throughout North America (USA and Canada)
