Job Description

As an Art Director at The Pub, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our clients' digital assets. In partnership with a Copywriter, you will collaborate with a creative team to develop and execute digital concepts (across web, social, and retail touchpoints) for a national (U.S.) client. You'll thrive in ambiguity, adapt quickly to shifting priorities, and ensure all work aligns with brand standards and business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Creative Directors, Copywriters, and Designers to translate briefs and adjoining style guides into compelling campaigns for our client.
  • Execute high-volume, tactical creative work across digital channels including web, social, paid media, and retail placements, with a strong focus on production vs. concepting.
  • Apply and adapt established look-and-feels and brand systems across all executions.
  • Translate briefs, retail strategies, and evolving client direction into clear, channel-specific executions.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail across layout, typography, imagery, and final outputs.
  • Rigorously follow and enforce style guides, brand standards, and production specifications across all deliverables.
  • Oversee the execution and production of video and motion assets, including storyboards, visual direction, and collaboration with production partners.
  • Review creative for brand compliance, content accuracy, production readiness, and quality before delivery.
  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities, tight timelines, and retail-driven deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with account, production, and creative teams to ensure smooth handoffs and on-time delivery.
  • Present work internally and to clients when required, clearly articulating executional decisions and trade-offs.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Advertising, Graphic Design or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in an art director role, preferably within an advertising agency environment.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of work,
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma.
  • Excellent project management and production skills.
  • Strong understanding of branding, typography, color theory, and layout design.
  • Experience in directing video shoots and collaborating with production teams.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating high-quality, impactful work.

Salary

Transparency matters to us. The salary range for this position is CAD $85K - $95K per year. Actual compensation within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and applicable certifications. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to offer based on current market data.
