Job Summary

The Global Logistics Manager oversees Guardianโ€™s international transportation operations from supplier shipment through warehouse delivery and manages domestic inventory transfers across Guardianโ€™s warehouse network. The role is the primary point of contact for freight forwarders, carriers, suppliers, customs partners, warehouses, and internal stakeholders, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of goods while maintaining shipment visibility, freight cost control, customs support, and operational excellence. This position partners with Supply Chain leadership to optimize transportation strategies, strengthen vendor relationships, improve logistics processes, manage inter-warehouse inventory movement, and identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining exceptional service levels.

Key ResponsibilitiesInternational & Domestic Transportation Management
  • Manage international inbound shipments from booking through final delivery and domestic inventory transfers across Guardianโ€™s warehouse network.
  • Plan transportation across ocean, air, parcel, truck, rail, and other modes; evaluate cost, transit time, service level, and alternative solutions based on business priorities.
  • Coordinate supplier readiness, transfer requirements, inventory transfer orders, pickups, deliveries, and receiving schedules with Supply Chain, Inventory Planning, warehouses, and carriers.
  • Monitor shipment and transfer progress, resolve transportation issues, and proactively communicate delays, risks, and ETA changes to stakeholders.
Freight Forwarder & Carrier Management
  • Serve as the primary operational and commercial contact for freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and parcel providers; manage vendor relationships, service performance, and escalation needs.
  • Lead rate and service negotiations, compare transportation options, monitor market conditions, and recommend shipping strategies that balance cost, transit time, and service requirements.
  • Review and approve freight invoices, audit accessorial charges, resolve billing discrepancies, and ensure freight costs support accurate landed-cost and accounting requirements.
  • Coordinate customs clearance, HTS information, import documentation, and compliance issues with customs brokers and internal trade-compliance resources.
  • Oversee customs duty refund and recovery activities, including documentation, claim tracking, broker coordination, and accurate recording of recovered duties.
Shipment Visibility & Systems Management
  • Maintain accurate shipment milestones, ETAs, delivery appointments, transfer orders, and logistics records in Acumatica (ERP) and supporting systems.
  • Own logistics data integrity by monitoring automated integrations, resolving discrepancies, and partnering with internal development teams to improve shipment visibility, system performance, and automation.
Continuous Improvement
  • Own and monitor quarterly logistics KPIs.
  • Identify and implement transportation, routing, SOP, systems, and workflow improvements that reduce cost, improve service levels, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the logistics resource across Supply Chain, Purchasing, Accounting, Receiving, Product Development, Operations, suppliers, and warehouses; provide transportation expertise and support cross-functional initiatives.
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of international logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience, including management of international freight operations and freight-forwarding partners.
  • Strong knowledge of ocean, air, parcel, customs processes, import documentation, and ERP/logistics systems; Acumatica preferred but not required.
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and relationship-management abilities.
Preferred
  • Experience negotiating freight rates, managing transportation vendors, and auditing freight invoices and accessorial charges.
  • Knowledge of landed-cost accounting and experience with customs duty refund/recovery programs and customs brokerage coordination.
  • Experience with logistics-system integrations or process automation; familiarity with DHL, FedEx, and international parcel shipping.
