Escape Room Hershey has 3 original escape room experiences, each with a unique goal to be solved within 1 hour. Participants work as a team using wits, intuition, logic, and communication with team members to solve puzzles and connect clues before the time runs out. We welcome groups of friends, families, team-building groups from companies and organizations, and anyone else eager to put down their devices for an hour to test their minds in a fun and innovative game.
Job Description
The Escape Room Game Moderator must possess the ability to multi-task, be able to work in a fast-paced, family friendly environment and be passionate about their work and contributions to Escape Room Lancaster. This person will be responsible for all aspects of customer service in running groups through escape games, while being assertive and ready to problem-solve different kinds of situations.
Essential Job Functions required of ALL Employees of Escape Room:
  • Provide exceptional guest and customer service via phone calls and one-on-one interactions: Greet all customers via phone or in person in a friendly and professional manner. Applicants need to be comfortable communicating and working with guests, supervisors and peers.
  • Assist in event set-up, including staging and re-setting the puzzle/game room, paying attention to specific details to ensure that all game elements are set up properly.
  • Welcome guests as they arrive, explain rules and strategies and answer any questions they may have prior to entering the puzzle room.
  • Monitor each event from the control room, providing clues as needed and addressing any questions or problems that arise, and then take pictures at end of experience.
  • Support marketing efforts and promotions, including social media.
  • Open and closing activities for the facility including cleaning bathroom, taking out trash, and organizing props and reception area.
  • Clean and maintain the facility: front room, prop area, escape rooms, control rooms, bathrooms. Being a small business, we expect everyone from Moderators to Managers to do it ALL!
  • Report to and follow directions of the management team regarding daily schedule and duties.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Customer Service experience is required. A minimum of 2-3 years is preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task and problem-solve
  • Comfortable in an ever-changing environment and be able to remain effective during busy, stressful times
  • Computer skills and ability to support social media initiatives
  • Ability to consistently work weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends. Availability for at least 3 Saturday shifts per month is required.
  • Ability to work more hours during Holiday season
  • Reliable transportation
  • Physical Requirements: Lifting/Carrying props up to 30 lbs.

Working Conditions:
  • Job Type: Part-time. 12-15 hours per week.
  • Shifts occur on weekday afternoons and evenings Wednesday-Friday, and weekend hours on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Additional hours available during holiday seasons
  • Indoors and seated for up to an hour at a time.

Rate of pay: $10 per hour
