Job description

Overview
At Mojang Studios, the creators of Minecraft, we are on a mission to build a better world through the power of play.
Why play? Well, play is at the heart of everything we do. It's the blocky backbone of our games, the core of our development philosophy, and even the origin of our name. From the relentless experimentation of our endlessly inspiring community to the classrooms where Minecraft has become an essential teaching tool, play is the bedrock of our existence.
We enable millions to create and play together, connect people across the globe, and foster a community that is among the most active and passionate in the world. Our community is global and incredibly diverse. When we are developing anything within our franchise, we keep this in mind. We want everyone to not only feel included in Minecraft, but also to see themselves in what we make. Our goal is for the Mojang Studios team to be as diverse as our community.
The Minecraft team is looking for a Product Manager to join the Bedrock Platform Gameplay Systems Team; we build the engine and systems that power a diverse set of Minecraft gaming experiences over a dozen platforms in support of multiple internal partners and all Bedrock players and creators.

Your role will be to collaborate across the organization, understand and communicate requirements and information efficiently and effectively, drive for clarity across the opportunity space to solutions, develop relationships that lead to efficient problem solving, and share the vision and outcomes to all the needed areas of the business, including senior leadership. The ability to track and deliver value to multiple customer release activities simultaneously will be key
Responsibilities
  • Partner with our vanilla gameplay and creator teams to define, scope, and execute on platform capabilities for Minecraft developers internal and external to Mojang Studios.
  • Establish clear and robust roadmaps for the gameplay systems platform, informed by partners and studio-wide priorities
  • Establish clear and measurable goals for your product area, and communicate progress, risks, and mitigations clearly to team leadership.
  • Work across Mojang Studios with key stakeholders to support studio-wide initiatives.
  • Collaborate across teams and geographies to deliver bar-raising experiences for Minecraft players.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience running multiple or larger teams using both Office Suite as well as project management software (Jira, ADO, GitHub, Hansoft, Asana etc.).
  • Excels at creating clarity and scope expectations in complex, ambiguous environments.
