Job Description
Dewberry's Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural (MEPS) team includes a large group focused on design services for nationwide clients in specialized facility types and specialized design services. Our experience includes high performance buildings, hospitals, net zero/renewable energy technologies, microgrid and energy resilience design, and a broad set of other MEPS services. Our MEPS team contains subject matter experts in leadership roles in international professional organizations such as ASHRAE. Our repeat clients include universities, healthcare systems, state, local, and federal government agencies, and large global industrial manufacturers, among others. Our MEPS service line is ranked #30 Nationally among MEP Giants.
Because our backlog continues to grow in healthcare, we are seeking a Regional Market Sector Leader - MEPS Healthcare to join our Fairfax, VA office. As a Regional Market Sector Leader - MEPS Healthcare, you will be responsible for developing business strategy, maintaining existing client relationships, developing new clients and business, and working directly with the existing managers in all our MEPS Offices to grow our Healthcare services.

    • Licensed engineer, and experienced manager with 15+ years of progressive experience in healthcare MEPS consulting engineering.

Responsibilities
The Fairfax, VA Healthcare Regional Market Sector Leader will be responsible for growing, mentoring, and developing the healthcare project and client managers in a way that allows each individual and our collective MEPS team to achieve maximum potential. More specifically:
  • Consultation with senior leadership on development and implementation of growth strategies.
  • Consultation with clients related to their project goals, design concepts, solutions, and project economics.
  • Work closely with all healthcare client/project managers in setting goals and growth strategies.
  • Ensure healthcare client/project managers provide timely and quality project and client management.
  • With support from the enterprise, lead business development activities, pursue new clients and potential project leads, guide price and technical proposals, and coordinate with other regional and national managers to jointly pursue healthcare projects involving MEPS Building Services throughout the US.
  • Recruitment, training, development, and direct supervision of healthcare client/project managers.
  • Standards Development Oversight: work with our MEPS technical leaders to ensure we are establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for healthcare.
  • Provide "on-the-spot" advice and decisions related to the healthcare market and client decisions. Regional Market Sector Leader - MEPS Healthcare is the senior manager responsible for decisions pertaining to the management of a healthcare project or client.
  • Coordinate with senior technical discipline/department managers within an office to resolve any conflicts that may arise.
  • Office Organizational Management: Assist the Office/Business Unit Manager to ensure successful office operations, including advice on staff organizational structure and office procedures.
  • Evaluation of project opportunities and Go/No Go determination based on technical qualifications, resource availability and alignment with business strategy and portfolio.
  • Active member/leader and industry thought leader in regional and national healthcare client-facing organizations (e.g. ASHE); publish, present, and participate in leadership roles within the organization.

The projected range for this position is $185,000-$238,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
