Job Summary:
Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) delivers high-impact, technical solutions to complex national security issues. They are seeking a Data Scientist to provide support in system modeling, performance testing, and analysis for joint integrated air and missile defense engagements, utilizing machine learning and AI to improve Joint warfighting capability.
Responsibilities:
• The Data Scientist will provide integral support in the areas of system modeling, performance testing, and analysis for joint integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) engagements.
• This role will support and inform the design of experiments and execution of joint kill chains through machine learning, meta modeling, AI, and neural network analysis.
• Candidate must be self-motivated and ready to explore the IAMD mission set and identify where data science can provide insight to improve Joint warfighting capability.
• Work will include creation and modification of software models to compliment ongoing studies and explore new pathways for analysis.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics or other related technical degree
• 5-10 years experience
• The ability to prepare and present complex ideas (including analytic methodologies and results) in a clear and coherent form before an audience is required.
• Data analysis competency with mathematical programming languages (i.e., MATLAB, Python, R, etc.) or equivalent with the ability to produce charts and tables.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in technical analysis and to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with engineers and analysts across a wide range of systems to collect data, identify and resolve modeling issues, and drive new analysis techniques.
• Self starter with effective oral and written communication skills for working within a team environment.
• Proficient in using MS Office, with emphasis in Excel and VBA.
• Must have a Top Secret clearance, and the ability to maintain it throughout employment.
Preferred:
• Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research or other related technical degree.
• Familiarity with SQL including the ability to create/use complex queries to extract information from databases.
• Familiarity with commercial or military sensors and networks.
• Experience in software testing, AFSIM, neural networks, AI, meta modeling, or machine learning.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required, and the ability to maintain it through employment.
