Job Summary
Administrative Assistant to Deputy Superintendent
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Minimum of five-years of experience as a secretary/administrative assistant for a high-level administrative or management position required.

SUPERVISOR
Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Organize an effective office with attention to administrative detail.
2. Ability to keep business matters confidential.
3. Demonstrate ability to type 60 words per minute is preferred.
4. Proficiency in technology programs such as Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, etc.
5. Ability to deal with people in person or on the telephone in a pleasant, courteous manner.
6. Ability to use excellent business English, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
7. Ability to organize materials and maintain accurate records.
8. Ability to distribute documents in an efficient and effective manner.
9. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with others.
10. Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed in a fast-paced, high-intensive work environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Processes communication and correspondence for the department (purchase orders, policies, materials, memos, agendas, proposals, grant applications and general correspondence).
2. Maintains records relative to curriculum, instruction, and staff development.
3. Coordinates activities related to the textbook program (inventory, distribution, purchases, and verification of textbook receipts to the State Department of Education and publishers).
4. Coordinates activities related to the processing of requests for professional leave.
5. Maintains records and materials related to staff development for all certified employees.
6. Processes correspondence and performs clerical duties as needed for all instructional personnel.
7. Coordinates contacts for accreditation evaluation teams when requested by principals.
8. Schedules professional meetings for the central office.
9. Takes leave time in accordance with Board policy and reports all absences to SubFinder in a timely manner.
10 Assumes other reasonable and equitable job-related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
The terms of employment shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Board's
Policy Manual, Students First Act and the
Board's Salary Schedule - Central Office Administrative Support - Grade IV.
EVALUATION
Performance evaluation shall be in accordance with the provisions of the
Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel - GCRK and GCRK - R.
