Job description

We are looking for a Marketing Communication Specialist to support research-focused marketing and communications efforts in Seattle, Washington. In this role, you will work closely with research teams to turn complex findings into clear, effective messages for internal and external audiences. This is a long-term contract position offering regular hours over a 9-month engagement, with an on-site presence required two days per week. The ideal candidate brings strong writing, planning, and cross-functional collaboration skills to help elevate the visibility and impact of research initiatives.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute communications plans to amplify research
  • Create both internal (program launches, announcements) and external communications
  • Build marketing and communication briefs
  • Translate complex scientific/research content into clear messaging (health/scientific writing experience is a plus)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing and creative teams
  • At least 3 years' experience in communications, marketing, corporate communications, or a related field
  • Health/scientific writing experience is a plus
  • Experience supporting communications during sensitive, high-priority, or rapidly evolving situations
  • Strong ability to develop written communications independently with minimal direction
  • Experience creating content across print and digital channels, including newsletters, websites, blogs, and marketing materials
  • Knowledge of editorial standards and style guidelines
