Job description


Lead the planning, management, and delivery of software products that support key business functions. Partner closely with internal departments to understand business needs and translate them into innovative, high-quality product solutions that elevate both member and employee experiences. Serve as a subject matter expert on Core Banking and associated products, platforms, systems, policies, and procedures. Lead the strategy, implementation and delivery of our Core Banking modernization program with a specific focus on co-existence as an enabler for migration to a new core banking platform. Provide strategic support to executive leadership by contributing to the development and execution of long-term organizational plans.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team responsible for turning the modernization program's coexistence and migration strategy into practical operational products and artifacts, not just conceptual frameworks, by developing the reasoning capability needed to apply the strategy consistently, navigate enterprise complexity at scale, and move from concept to delivery.
  • Develops the conceptual models, curated enterprise context, AI reasoning capability, methodologies, and operational artifacts required for the broader modernization program to execute that strategy coherently and consistently at scale.
  • Lead strategy, vision and execution of line of business software product delivery using an automated factory-based delivery via DevSecOps pipelines
  • Establish and direct business technology software product delivery teams that can promptly respond to context-specific business needs for rapid delivery of solutions
  • Evolve the mainframe-based banking core to a modern cloud native core banking platform
  • Establish ubiquitous software engineering capabilities for developers, with appropriate coaching on development best practices and security guardrails to simplify and ensure rapid delivery of systems integration solutions across a hybrid Cloud footprint
  • Drive the interface with the business, including translation of business requirements into deliverable software solutions, working closely with the business unit and the Enterprise Transformation Office to ensure that needs and priorities are met
  • Accelerate adoption of automated testing and test coverage by enforcing a Test-Driven Development model in conjunction with properly governed quality and security gates
  • Leverage standardized tool chains to accelerate efforts for achieving continuous integration, continuous delivery and continuous monitoring with end-to-end automation of mission critical systems
  • Facilitate and coach stakeholders in agile practices throughout their agile transformation journey
  • Build and maintain relationships with team members, management, key stakeholders and external contacts (e.g., vendors, etc.)
  • Provide forward-thinking technical expertise in current and emerging technologies, trends and practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Significant experience working in a large-scale IT organization with responsibility for the delivery of various technology areas (e.g., .Net, Java, etc.), digital experience platforms and processes, cloud-native solutions, code profiling and DevOps tool chain, preferably in a large financial services organization or other major B2C corporation
  • Significant experience in organizational transformation and digital journeys with a specific focus on Core Banking or Retail Banking platform modernizations
  • Significant experience in leading large technology initiatives with enterprise level impact and managing vendor relationships
  • Advanced knowledge of banking/financial industry trends, products and services
  • Advanced knowledge of and significant experience with system integration technology protocols, services and security
  • Advanced knowledge of and significant experience with end-to-end automated product delivery supporting member journey mapping
  • Significant experience in working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendors
  • Significant experience in demonstrating thought-leadership, initiative-taking, decision-making and creativity solving business problems
  • Advanced skill to move comfortably between varying business discussions to effectively communicate complex technical issues to non-technical audiences
  • Advanced situational analysis and decision-making skills
  • Advanced problem solving, collaboration, critical thinking, team building, and presentation skills
  • Advanced skill leading with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence
  • Advanced skill to formulate a strategic vision and define and implement action plans to achieve strategic goals
