Job description

Are you passionate about helping mission-driven nonprofit organizations harness the cloud to expand their impact. Do you thrive at the intersection of customer obsession, deep technical breadth, and trusted-advisor relationships with the people running some of the country's most important nonprofit institutions. AWS is hiring a Senior Solutions Architect to partner with the AWS U.S

Nonprofits (NPO) General sub-vertical Sales team and serve as the single point of technical-advisor accountability for three NPO territories under a Senior Sales Manager.
In this role, you will work directly with Sales Account Executives to support 367+ active customer opportunities spanning Cloud Migration, Professional Services delivery, Generative AI Full-Stack engagements (Amazon Bedrock, AgentCore, Quick), and Amazon Connect contact center modernization. You will lead end-to-end customer engagements on a portfolio of Deep + Focus accounts - operating at the architectural-advisor altitude that nonprofit IT leaders, executive sponsors, and boards expect - and you will own the SA-side of opportunity progression that closes the territory's $7.4M go-get gap to FY26 quota.
You will join the broader AWS WWPS U.S. Nonprofits Solutions Architecture organization, which operates a force-multiplied model built on data-driven SA management, Kiro CLI / agentic-AI tooling for territory work, the GenAI Innovation Center (GenAIIC) accelerator mechanism for moving customer PoCs to production, and a strong Sales-SA partnership culture that treats AE quota success and SA technical-advisor outcomes as one shared mission

As the new L5 SA on this sub-vertical, you will help complete that operating-model coverage by bringing the same partnership rigor to the Senior Sales Manager's Sales bench - alongside SA Manager support and full integration with the NPO SA org's tooling, mentoring, and TFC programs.
The right candidate brings 5+ years of customer-facing technical-advisor or Solutions Architect experience, deep multi-service AWS technical breadth (Compute, Networking, Security, Databases, plus a specialty in GenAI / Migration / Data & Analytics / Modern App Dev), and the judgment to run multiple complex customer engagements concurrently without per-deal escalation. Prior nonprofit, public-sector experience is a strong plus, as is hands-on experience with GenAI delivery on Amazon Bedrock / AgentCore, AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP / MAP-Lite), or Amazon Connect contact center work.
If this sounds like the kind of role where your technical depth, customer obsession, and trusted-advisor instincts can directly turn 367 nonprofit-customer opportunities into operationalized, mission-impact outcomes, we want to hear from you.
Key job responsibilities
As the Senior Solutions Architect on the NPO GEN sub-vertical, you will:
Lead end-to-end customer engagements on Deep + Focus nonprofit accounts - discovery, architecture review, proof-of-concept design, pilot execution, statement-of-work scoping input, and production-launch handoff - operating as the customer's primary AWS technical advisor.
Partner with Sales Account Executives and Senior Sales Manager to advance 367+ active opportunities through the AWS sales-stage funnel from Prospect / Qualified into Technical Validation, Business Validation, and Committed.
Own architectural-advisor altitude on the territory's Deep + Focus accounts - including the 6 Deep + Focus accounts in the GEN-01 territory alone - by participating in director-, VP-, and executive-altitude technical conversations, contributing to customer-facing roadmap and reference-architecture documents, and earning trust as the AWS technical voice the customer brings to its hardest decisions.
Apply the AWS GenAI Innovation Center (GenAIIC) accelerator mechanism combined with the AI Development Life-Cycle (AIDLC) framework to convert GenAI proof-of-concept engagements (Amazon Bedrock, AgentCore, Quick, Amazon SageMaker) into production-launched customer outcomes.
Cover the four NPO operating pillars with technical depth and credibility:
Cloud Migration (AWS Migration Acceleration Program - MAP, MAP-Lite, RAPID; VMware migrations; mainframe modernization)
Professional Services delivery (architecture input on >$100k SOWs; LZA + landing-zone work; security-agent and data-pipeline projects)
Generative AI Full-Stack (Bedrock, AgentCore, Q Developer, Quick, GenAIIC PoCs)
Amazon Connect contact center modernization (cloud call-center migrations from Genesys, FICO, on-prem voice platforms)
Execute a recurring Sales-SA partnership cadence with AE Manager and the AE bench - weekly deal reviews, monthly business reviews, and quarterly forecasting cycles - modeled on the proven Sales-SA operating models running on the AWS NPO sub-verticals.
Contribute to the AWS NPO Technical Field Community (TFC) - participate in the bi-weekly Kiro demo-build program, the GenAI Accelerator Initiative, and other org-wide TFC programs that scale your impact beyond your own territories.
Mentor and collaborate with peer Solutions Architects across the NPO SA org - sharing customer-engagement patterns, technical-architecture decisions, GenAI accelerator outcomes, and Sales-SA partnership lessons learned with peer SAs on the broader NPO sub-verticals.
Travel approximately 20-30% within the United States to customer sites for in-person executive briefings, customer workshops, on-site architecture reviews, and AWS / nonprofit industry events such as AWS Imagine for Nonprofits.
A day in the life
A typical day might include a morning standup with the Account Executive manager and the sales team AEs to review the week's pipeline-progression actions; a customer architecture-review call with one of the GEN-01 Deep + Focus accounts to scope a Bedrock-based GenAI workload; a working session with a partner integrator (Caylent, Slalom, or similar) to align on an MAP-Lite migration plan for one of the GEN-02-SBAI accounts; a one-hour block of Kiro-CLI-automated territory-management work that surfaces pipeline gaps and stale opportunities; and an end-of-day debrief with the AE bench on which opportunities are advancement-ready for next week's deal review. Across the week you also block time for customer SOW input, executive-altitude relationship work on Deep + Focus accounts, and TFC contributions that scale your impact beyond your own territories.
About the team
You will join the AWS Worldwide Public Sector U.S

Nonprofits (NPO) Solutions Architecture organization - the team responsible for helping mission-driven nonprofit institutions across the United States use AWS to expand their impact on the communities they serve.
