Job description

Description:

RIVANNA is seeking a talented and motivated recent graduate to join our team to contribute to our

developing product line. You will work hands-on across our manufacturing line, supporting the team as

we bring products from development into manufacturing. It's a collaborative, multidisciplinary role

alongside our mechanical and electrical engineering teams. This is a temporary position expected to

continue through September 2027. Based on business needs, RIVANNA may, at its sole discretion,

extend the duration of the position beyond September 2027. Employment remains at-will and may be

terminated by either the employee or RIVANNA at any time, with or without cause or advance notice,

subject to applicable law. Applicants must be local to the Charlottesville, VA area or willing to relocate at

their own expense by the anticipated start date, as relocation assistance is not provided for this position.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future

sponsorship. RIVANNA is unable to provide employment sponsorship for this position.


Responsibilities

  • Contribute to production builds by assembling components and sub-systems according to established procedures and specifications
  • Coordinate machine shop operations, including 3D printer setup, post-processing, and troubleshooting
  • Design, fabricate, and assemble test fixtures and manufacturing jigs using shop tools and equipment
  • Perform soldering tasks for electromechanical assemblies during builds
  • Execute product and component testing, documenting results and identifying areas for improvement
  • Participate in engineering team meetings and report on project progress and completion
  • Collaborate with members of various departments to support product development and manufacturing efforts
  • Maintain a safe, organized machine shop and lab environment by following established safety procedures
  • Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field (recently completed or expected)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical challenges
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
  • Experience operating machine shop equipment (e.g., mills, lathes, saws) is preferred
  • Experience with 3D printing and soldering is preferred
  • Experience with CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, Onshape, Fusion360) is preferred
  • Experience with PCB design software (e.g., Altium, EAGLE) is a plus
