Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all West Coast Logistics operations, driving service, productivity, cost control, transportation efficiency, and operational excellence across multiple locations.
  • Provide strategic direction and operational support to logistics leadership teams across the region.
  • Develop and execute regional logistics strategies, processes, and procedures aligned with company goals and customer requirements.
  • Establish and manage regional KPIs, transportation metrics, budgets, freight costs, and financial performance.
  • Build, develop, and hold logistics management teams accountable for service, productivity, cost, and performance objectives.
  • Oversee transportation operations, including carrier management, routing, freight planning, backhauls, load optimization, and delivery performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead carrier and customer negotiations while ensuring competitive rates, cost-effective transportation solutions, and margin integrity.
  • Analyze transportation and logistics data to identify opportunities for cost reduction, route optimization, improved asset utilization, and service enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, DOT requirements, OSHA requirements, and applicable transportation and safety regulations.
  • Standardize logistics processes and best practices across regional locations to improve consistency, efficiency, and service levels.
  • Conduct regular site visits and operational reviews to evaluate logistics performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to support business growth, customer implementations, and strategic logistics initiatives.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects focused on transportation efficiency, cost reduction, service improvement, and operational performance.
  • Manage special projects and other regional logistics initiatives as assigned by senior leadership.
  • Travel extensively between West Coast locations as needed.


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of progressive Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain management experience.
  • Previous experience managing logistics operations across multiple locations preferred.
  • Must have previous experience with cold storage logistics.
  • Strong strategic leadership, team development, coaching, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven experience managing transportation KPIs, budgets, freight costs, labor, and operational performance.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation operations, carrier management, routing, freight planning, and delivery operations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple locations, priorities, and logistics operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, WMS, TMS, and transportation technology.
  • Experience with TruckMate, RoadNet, PC*Miler, Qualcomm GPS, load boards, and freight calculation systems preferred.
  • Experience with transportation cost analysis, route optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel extensively between regional locations and navigate warehouse, transportation, and logistics environments, including varying temperatures.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs., with reasonable accommodations as applicable.
