Job Description

Position Overview

This role focuses on monitoring, troubleshooting, operational support, and performance improvement initiatives across multiple wind turbine platforms and service models, while working closely with site operations, OEMs, Asset Management, customers, and other engineering groups.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day engineering support for operating utility-scale wind facilities within Invenergy's third-party portfolio.
  • Identify, evaluate, and resolve equipment reliability and performance issues to maximize energy production and operational performance.
  • Analyze SCADA data, event logs, inspection findings, and operational trends to identify root causes and develop corrective action recommendations.
  • Support resolution of routine and moderately complex operational issues, including tracking actions and verification of improvement.
  • Participate in regular site operation calls and collaborate with field personnel, Asset Management, OEMs, contractors, and vendors to investigate and resolve equipment issues.
  • Apply engineering support appropriately across different service models while maintaining awareness of contractual scope and escalation requirements.
  • Support operational safety reviews and contribute engineering perspective to incident investigations when requested.
  • Review inspection findings and support disposition recommendations, maintenance prioritization, and End-of-Warranty (EOW) activities.
  • Develop and improve monitoring tools, dashboards, reports, troubleshooting documentation, and analytics in collaboration with Performance Analytics and other engineering groups to improve operational visibility, consistency, and performance insights.
  • Support pilot projects evaluating new tools, monitoring strategies, operational processes, or performance improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with power performance testing (PPT) evaluations and analysis to support validation of turbine performance and operational behavior.
  • Build working relationships with site personnel, lead technicians, site managers, OEM engineering teams, and customer stakeholders.
  • Support onboarding of new facilities into the operating fleet.
  • Some travel (<25%) and occasional field work may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Typically 2-6 years of relevant experience in wind operations engineering, reliability engineering, technical support, or related field.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze operational data and identify equipment reliability or performance issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to operational and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to manage assignments, support multiple priorities, and drive initiatives with limited supervision.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with utility-scale wind turbine operations, reliability programs, or work management systems.
  • Familiarity with wind turbine controls behavior, SCADA systems, event logs, and operational performance monitoring.
  • Experience working with various OEM platforms.
  • Familiarity with service models including FSA, rFSA, and self-perform operational structures.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) Software
  • Experience with Data Analysis and Visualization tools (PowerBI, PI Data Historian, Python, etc.).
  • Understanding of operational performance metrics including availability, curtailment, derates, and lost production.
  • Familiarity with power performance testing (PPT), turbine performance evaluations, or OEM performance validation processes.

Base Pay

$85,000.00 - $108,000.00 USD Annual
Bonus: 15%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
