Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Area Manager oversees multiple wash locations within the assigned geographic region, ensuring operational excellence, team development and adherence to company standards. This role focuses on optimizing performance, maintaining safety and cleanliness, supporting marketing initiatives and coaching leaders to deliver exceptional customer experiences. 

Leadership & People  

  • Lead, coach and support Site Managers to achieve sales targets, operational goals and customer experience standards. 

  • Conduct periodic team performance and knowledge reviews to ensure alignment with current company procedures and initiatives.  

  • Partner with recruiting to identify hiring needs  

  • Oversee onboarding, training and development of site management teams to build a strong talent pipeline. 

  • Participate in succession planning to ensure readiness for growth. 

  • Coach employees on effective sales techniques at sales booths and in vacuum lots. 

Operations 

  • Conduct regular visits to assigned sites in accordance with the prescribed schedule to monitor performance, ensure compliance and maintain brand presentation standards. 

  • Analyze sales reports, KPIs and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and growth. 

  • Conduct inventory and cash audits to ensure accuracy and compliance. 

  • Provide operational coverage by working shifts as needed. 

  • Perform certifications for wash employees to ensure knowledge meets company standards. 

  • Review and approve site schedules and ensure payroll accuracy. 

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of all equipment including operational functionalist and each step of the wash process. 

  • Implement promotional and marketing initiatives consistently across all assigned sites. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills. 

  • Excellent communication, organizational and analytical abilities 

  • Think strategically with strong business acumen. 

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.  

  • Take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy and enthusiasm. 

  • Solve problems based on complex and sometimes contradictory information. 

  • Make good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward. 

  • Strong working knowledge of operational systems, KPIs and performance improvement. 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. 

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. 

Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years multi-unit retail management experience, preferably in a high-volume environment. 

  • Proven track record of meeting sales targets and improving operational performance. 

Physical Requirements

  • Periodic periods sitting in a vehicle. 

  • Ability to stand for extended periods in various weather conditions. 

  • Ability to bend, twist and kneel. 

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. 

  • Ability to travel within assigned territory and work flexible hours as needed.
