Job description

Love technology? Enjoy working with people? Are you a winner? IMPACT is hiring “rain maker” salespersons to join our team. The salesperson we are looking for has a hunger for forging relationships, closing deals and crushing targets. We are NOT looking for an Account Manager, Order Taker, Product Specialist, Regional District Coordinator, or Customer Service Representative. Henry Ford once said “Nothing happens until something’s sold” so we will hire someone proud to be called a salesperson! You must enjoy selling and always strive to improve your skills and performance. If you believe that sales is the most important job in any company, and you believe in yourself and your sales ability, then we would like to have a conversation with you about joining our team.

So who are we? We are a hungry, small business looking to grow. We are here to make a big difference and help businesses get worry-free technology so they can grow and win. So, that is why we need someone, maybe you, to help us reach that goal. We think we are an awesome place to work and what we are doing is helping to change the world… really! Check our website at impacttg.com to see what we are talking about. If that sounds interesting, why not consider making a move to one of the hottest industries with year over year growth with one of the top companies?  IMPACT Technology Group has been recognized as one of the top 500 MSPs (managed services providers) in North America.

What Will I Be Doing?

Your job is to sell! In this role you will be responsible for prospecting, creating and converting leads, networking, getting meetings, building relationships, delivering proposals, and closing deals… business development. If you do not enjoy those things, you will not like this job.

  • Generate leads by managing and participating in outbound campaigns, active networking, and partner relationship building.
  • Devise new tactics, propose and execute outbound campaigns (or make adjustments to existing campaigns if necessary) in collaboration with Marketing and Executives.
  • Nurture sales leads, maintaining ongoing communication to realize needs and cultivate further business.
  • Meet with potential customers in Annapolis, Baltimore and DC area, Maryland’s Eastern Shore, the Eastern Shore of Virginia, and Delaware.
  • Track, hit and be accountable to your numbers.
  • Work with marketing as needed to promote the company and its products/services for continuous improvement and lead generation.

  • Degree or Diploma in any commerce or business study.
  • Top notch customer service and follow through.
  • Formal sales training and practice using a sales methodology (e.g. Strategic Selling, Solution Selling, SPIN, NEAT, Challenger, etc.)
  • A love for closing deals using complex market research and focusing on continued learning and improvement
  • Flawless communication skills, both written and oral, with extensive public speaking experience
  • A demonstrated ability to work solo as well as being a productive team member, making outbound calls every day
  • Thorough understanding of commercial awareness and brand recognition to successfully establish rapport with prospects
  • Ability to hold a conversation on phone systems, VoIP technology, PBX, telephony, video, business technology, and strategic goals and growth within a company.

Also, you must come into our Salisbury, MD office weekly for meetings and attend all events. In addition to being a go-getter, you must follow systems and processes, and be a good listener. In fact, just to prove that you pay attention and can follow directions, when you apply for this position, please put your favorite flavor of ice cream in Answer A. Yep, that’s our little trick to sort out the people who blanket send their resume to anyone and everyone and don’t really care about what the job is versus the folks (like you) who are truly interested in this position. Plus, we want to know too!

We also want to talk if this describes you:

  • You like to work hard.
  • This job is not for the weak or those unsure of their confidence or abilities. You need to have thick skin and be okay with the word “No”… a lot!
  • You have to act like and be an adult, and a professional.
  • We expect intelligence, energy, and a “get it done” attitude.
  • You need to be the type person who enjoys meeting new people and talking with them, even on the phone, a lot.
  • You like to set, work on and achieve goals and blow past them…. that is winning.
  • You must be competitive and results driven.
  • You need to use technology and know how to use a computer, very well. This means you need to know how to use the internet, email, a CRM, and spreadsheet.
  • You need to be assertive and persuasive and persistent.
  • You need to be a great listener and that means listening first, and talking second.

Benefits of Working at IMPACT

So why is IMPACT a great place to work and what’s in it for you?

  • You will get to meet a lot of cool people, tour some amazing facilities, and travel.
  • The sky is the limit and so is the pay.

  • Our team delivers and you can be confident that what you sell will get delivered and the customer will be thrilled.
  • We have fun and we take care of our team. We live and die as a team. Whether happy-hour events, in office games, monthly outings, or quarterly retreats… when the company wins, we celebrate as a team.
  • You will get to work with our CEO directly and be a big part of the growth strategy for our company.
  • We have a sales process. You will get in-depth training on our systems, processes, and solutions.
  • We are a fast-moving company, always looking to grow.

Benefits include group medical/vision/dental/life insurance, paid vacation, holidays, IRA/401k, and much more.

We are looking to bring our new colleague on board as soon as possible, but we will spend the necessary time to find the best fit both in abilities and culturally. One thing that will give you a BIG leg up (but is optional) is to send a quick video in along with your resume (in fact, everyone who works here did this). You can put the link in Answer B. In you
