Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead plant-wide continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methods
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify waste, bottlenecks, variation, and opportunities to improve safety, quality, flow, and output
  • Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, line balancing, and capacity planning to improve labor and equipment utilization
  • Lead kaizen events and facilitate workshops to drive process improvements and employee engagement
  • Develop, implement, and sustain standard work, visual controls, error-proofing solutions, and compliance to standard work practices
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions for process, quality, and downtime issues
  • Own and track measurable results including cost savings, scrap reduction, downtime reduction, throughput, labor productivity, and OEE improvement
  • Drive KPI review cadence and follow-through actions to ensure accountability and sustain gains
  • Partner with engineering, maintenance, and operations to support new product launches, process changes, and equipment improvements
  • Coach operators, supervisors, and cross-functional teams on continuous improvement tools and daily problem-solving practices
  • Present project updates, business impact, and improvement plans to plant leadership
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements in all improvement activities
  • Document, communicate, and replicate best practices and lessons learned across departments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 2-5+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or continuous improvement roles; powertrain or automotive experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and waste reduction methods.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred; Kaizen, TPS, Shainin, or other structured problem-solving training is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, BricsCAD, ERP/MES systems, OEE reporting tools, and process mapping software; AutoCAD, Minitab,  experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, and project management skills.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams, lead through influence without direct authority, and drive change in a hands-on production environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Work Environment:

  • Plant-floor-focused role with regular collaboration across production, maintenance, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams.
  • Fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment requiring strong prioritization, adaptability, and follow-through.

Ability to work on the plant floor for extended periods and support operational needs as required.
