Location: Thomaston, CT
Job Type: Full-Time/Permanent
Work Setup: Onsite
Compensation: $135,000+ per year + 5% bonus

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain bills of manufacture, engineering masters, routings, and related manufacturing data within the ERP system.
  • Develop, maintain, and support CNC programs for fabrication equipment, including sheet metal manufacturing machinery.
  • Design and develop tooling and fixtures to improve manufacturing efficiency and production capabilities.
  • Coordinate tooling and fabrication activities internally and with qualified outside suppliers.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and production issues in collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve manufacturing processes to optimize quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost.
  • Review engineering changes and implement updates to manufacturing documentation, routings, and open production orders.
  • Investigate non-conforming products and participate in corrective action and material review activities.
  • Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing equipment, tooling, and technologies to enhance production capabilities.
  • Provide technical support during customer proposal and quotation activities.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering regarding manufacturability, tooling requirements, and production methods.
  • Support make-versus-buy evaluations in partnership with Purchasing and Supply Chain teams.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new Manufacturing Engineering personnel.
  • Provide technical support and engineering guidance throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
  • Perform additional engineering duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience using CAD software; SolidWorks experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, manufacturing bills of material, and routings.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication and related manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, or 5S.
  • Experience supporting CNC programming and fabrication equipment.
  • Experience with manufacturing process development and optimization.
