Purpose: manages all clinical lab operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and provides medical or scientific leadership. They oversee testing accuracy, manage budgets and staff, and consult with doctors on patient results.

What you will do:

  • Oversee daily testing workflows, quality control (QC), and proficiency testing to ensure fast, accurate results.
  • Compliance & Safety: Maintain adherence to CLIA and hospital accreditation standards, correcting any inspection deficiencies.
  • Staff Management: Hire, train, and supervise qualified technical staff and supervisors.
  • Clinical Consultation: Advise physicians and medical staff on interpreting complex test results and selecting proper diagnostic procedures.
  • Financial & Administrative: Manage departmental budgets, equipment acquisition, and validation of new testing methods.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters degree preferred. Bachelors degree in medical technology or one of the biological, chemical or physical sciences requiredMinimum of six (6) years of work experience in a hospital setting is requiredMinimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a hospital setting is necessary

Licensure:

Florida State Laboratory Supervisor's License. Certified by a national regulatory agency (ASCP) preferred.
