The opportunity

The School of Engineering, Technology, and Aeronautics (SETA) at Southern New Hampshire University is currently seeking a Student Worker to fill the role of Lab Operations Assistant for our campus location to assist the Lab Operations department with ongoing projects and events. This position is designed for students who are looking for a role in assisting others with 3D printing, laser cutting, wood shop support, and general lab and building support. Training will be provided.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Lab Operations Department with projects within SETA
  • Assist with the 3D printing of student projects
  • Maintain safe, organized, and efficient lab environments
  • Support students and faculty in the operation of certain lab equipment
  • Assist with lab projects and other project teams within all SETA lab spaces
  • Help with preparation, set up, and take down for Academic events
  • Some heavy lifting involved
  • Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities in support of dynamic engineering and/or Construction Management needs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow
  • Enrollment in a SETA degree program preferred (Engineering, CM, IT, CS, Physics)
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Eligible for Federal Work Study as part of their financial aid package
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Work Schedule
The work schedule is Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm. We are offering up to 12 hours per week. The hours are flexible and can be worked any way that fits within your schedule. A formal weekly schedule will be made after the hours are agreed upon. There may be additional weekend dates added for SNHU or SETA specific events but are not required.

Compensation
