Sportech's reasonable and good-faith estimate for new hire compensation at the time of posting for this position is $32.00 - $38.50 per hour. Pay may also include variable compensation from time to time such as overtime for non-exempt positions, shift differential for specific shifts, and/or bonus targets (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Job Summary
As the Quality Lab Lead, you coordinate the daily operations of the lab and CMM Schedule, supervising the work of laboratory technicians and other staff. This includes assigning tasks, providing training and guidance, and ensuring that all team members adhere to policy, procedures and safety standards
Essential Job Functions
  • Mentor and Train Lab Technicians
  • Oversee daily lab operations
  • Manage CMM schedule
  • Insure accurate documentation of lab process and records
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate necessary repairs
  • Manage laboratory supplies and instrumentation, including ordering and supplier or equipment evaluation
  • Maintain measuring Software including updates and training
  • Resolve quality issues and provide technical support to lab staff
  • Overseeing coordinate measuring machine operations, ensuring dimensional inspection accuracy
  • Work with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure quality expectations are met
  • Maintain detailed records of training activities
  • Research, purchase and implement new tooling, equipment and fixturing needs for the labs.
  • Measure with Scanner or portable CMM
  • Miscellaneous projects and duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Associate degree strongly preferred
  • Strong technical & fixturing background in measurement lab operations or quality systems.
  • Proficiency in quality documentation and Reporting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 3+ years' experience with CMMs and metrology equipment
  • Portable Arm CMM Programing experience
  • Competency in dimensional inspection, MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis), and quality control procedures
  • Verisurf Knowledge preferred
  • Scanning knowledge and Reverse Engineering experience

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers for precise measurement and inspection activities.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods performing programming, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Ability to consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and laboratory environment with varying temperatures, humidity, and noise levels.
