Overview

JOB PURPOSE
The Team Leader, Compliance and Drafting Services, is responsible for leading and coordinating Generation compliance and drafting functions to ensure adherence with applicable regulatory, reliability, operational, and engineering requirements. It ensures the organization maintains strong regulatory compliance performance while delivering high-quality drafting and technical support services that enable safe, reliable, and efficient utility operations. This position provides leadership and technical oversight for NERC Operations and Planning compliance activities, compliance documentation management, audit readiness, and generation drafting services.


Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Lead compliance and drafting team members responsible for compliance and drafting activities for the Generation fleet.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to compliance and drafting team members.
  • Support budgeting, resource planning, contractor oversight, and staffing needs for compliance and drafting functions.
  • Participate in long-range compliance and operational planning initiatives.
  • Promote safe work practice and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee compliance with applicable NERC Reliability Standards pertaining to Operations and Planning compliance for Generation.
  • Ensure development, maintenance, and execution of compliance evidence, procedures, RSAWs, self-certifications, and mitigation plans.
  • Monitor regulatory changes from NERC, Regional Entities, and applicable regulatory bodies and assess organizational impacts.
  • Lead readiness activities for audits, spot checks, self-reports, and compliance investigations.
  • Ensure corrective actions and mitigation plans are developed, implemented, tracked and completed within required timeframes.
  • Track and report compliance metrics, audit findings, and program performance indicators.
  • Oversee drafting personnel responsible for generating design and drafting.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of technical drawings, schematics, one-lines, and other engineering documentation.
  • Coordinate drafting standards, revisions controls, and document management processes.
  • Ensure engineering changes and field modifications are accurately reflected in controlled drawings and records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Associate's degree in drafting design or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in utility operations, compliance, engineering support, drafting services, or related technical environment or equivalent combination of education and experience on a year for year basis is required.
  • Driver License, Valid and in State.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills to perform projects of high complexity and manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity of engineering drawing standards and drafting software applications.
  • Knowledge of utility industry specific procedures, processes, terminology, systems, and equipment related to compliance and drafting.
