SUMMARY

The IPT Lead (Engineering Manager) leads an engineering team in pursuit of excellence in project performance (cost, schedule and technical). The IPT Lead cultivates a healthy work environment for team personnel, sustains team workload, and is supported by the Chief Engineer and/or Chief Designer.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Leads engineering team in pursuit of excellence in project performance (cost, schedule and technical):
    1. Provides business, technical and/or strategic leadership on team projects
    2. Staffs projects with personnel that have the essential skills and experience
    3. Regularly monitors cost, schedule and technical status of all team projects
    4. Ultimately responsible for financial, schedule and technical performance of all team projects
  • Cultivates a healthy work environment for team personnel:
    1. Makes the best use of personnel skills and experience
    2. Oversees personnel professional development (mentoring, training, career growth)
    3. Balances personnel workloads
    4. Accountable for hiring and termination of team members
    5. Ultimately responsible for all team staff
  • Sustains team workload:
    1. Fosters the maintenance and development of customer relationships
    2. Makes certain that team proposals are complete and financially rigorous
    3. Oversees team business development
    4. Accountable for the content of all team proposals
  • Effectively collaborates with other teams for our customers, personnel and/or company
  • Seeks company growth through leadership of company strategic initiatives
  • Accountable for team budgets

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Required education: B.S. in Engineering or Related Science or Field
  • Preferred education: M.S. in Engineering or Related Science or Field
  • Typically possesses 7+ years of experience in space and defense industry
  • Required experience:
    1. Ability to develop, plan and execute projects
    2. Demonstrated team leader
    3. Experience with customer relations with space and defense industry prime contractors and government agencies
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance.
