In inventory management, the 80/20 rule, also known as the Pareto principle, suggests that approximately 80% of inventory value comes from 20% of the items. Inventory managers in the US typically earn a median annual salary of around $65,000 to $75,000, with experienced professionals and those in supervisory roles earning higher. Salaries can vary based on industry, location, and level of experience, and many inventory managers use inventory management software and data analysis skills in their work.

What are the 4 types of inventory management?

The four main types of inventory management are perpetual, periodic, just-in-time (JIT), and ABC analysis. Perpetual management continuously tracks inventory levels, while periodic updates stock counts at intervals. JIT minimizes inventory by receiving goods only as needed, and ABC analysis categorizes inventory based on value and importance, helping managers prioritize control efforts.
