Job description

Senior Accountant LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a Senior Accountant for a growing company in Northern Kentucky. This role is responsible for supporting the full-cycle accounting function within a mid-sized manufacturing environment, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective collaboration with operations. The position works closely with leadership to provide insights into financial performance, inventory activity, and operational efficiency. This is a permanent placement role that is 100% onsite. Pay for this role will range between $78K and $94K annually depending on experience. Job Duties:
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including fixed assets, inventory, and prepaid expenses
  • Analyze manufacturing variances, including labor, material, and overhead, and provide recommendations to improve cost efficiency
  • Support inventory accounting, cycle counts, and annual physical inventory processes to ensure accuracy and control
  • Manage standard costing updates and assist with product costing and margin analysis
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to support operational decision-making
  • Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and production teams to align financial reporting with business activity
  • Assist with external audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
  • Prepare, review, and file sales and use tax returns, including maintaining compliance with multi-state requirements and supporting audits
  • Support process improvements, system implementations, and ongoing enhancements to accounting procedures
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
  • Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting concepts
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
