ABOUT OUR ENGINEERING SCIENCES TEAM
As part of our expanding Global Engineering and Scientific consulting team, you will work at the forefront of today's most complex engineering challenges. You will be engaged in analyzing failures of a myriad of products from a variety of industries, but with a heavy focus on large industrial facilities like power plants, Oil & Gas facilities, chemical processing plants, construction, and similar. Outside of that work, you will be engaged in automotive, consumer products, consumer electronics, and medical devices.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review technical and non-technical documentation (engineering reports, engineering drawings and specifications, field reports, correspondence, etc) to identify key issues and details.
  • Gather and synthesize data from diverse sources such as geotechnical, field, and daily construction reports, meeting minutes, depositions, drawings, laboratory results, and instrumentation data to assist with the evaluation of claims.
  • Perform engineering calculations (civil, geotechnical, and structural) using a combination of computer software and hand calculations.
  • Assist with the preparation and conducting of subsurface explorations, condition assessments, and site visits.
  • Assist in peer reviews of geotechnical/geostructural and civil engineering designs and construction processes.
  • Collaborate with the team in preparing expert reports, presentations, and other deliverables to clients.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Requisite degree and 4+ years of geotechnical engineering work experience, considering the following:
    • MS in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Geotechnical or GeoStructural Engineering.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication.
    • Ability to obtain a Professional Engineering license within the United States.
  • Strong skills using relevant software tools: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint), AutoCAD/Civil3D, and BlueBeam or Adobe Pro.
  • Experience with analytical software such as Geostudio Suite, Slide, Settle 3D, borehole logging software, Plaxis, CPeT-IT, is a plus.
  • Ability to travel as needed (generally under 15% but may vary).
  • Attention to detail and the ability to clearly and concisely present findings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Flexible, creative problem-solving skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without the need for sponsorship in the future.
