The Senior Manager, Workday Reporting & Analytics is responsible for leading the operational execution, governance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of Workday reporting across Raymond James. This role serves as the primary owner for Workday reporting operations, including report nomenclature, metadata standards, report intake and prioritization, quality controls, administration, and ongoing maintenance of reporting content.

This role manages a team of 2 to 3 individual contributors and ensures the team delivers accurate, consistent and well-governed reporting solutions that support HR leaders, business stakeholders, and enterprise workforce decisionโ€‘making. The Senior Manager partners closely with HR COEs, Technology, HRIS, business leaders and People Analytics stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable reporting solutions, improve report usability and strengthen confidence in Workday data and reporting outputs.

The role requires deep Workday reporting expertise, strong operational discipline, sound judgment, and the ability to simplify complex data and reporting concepts for a broad range of audiences. The Senior Manager will lead reporting governance, documentation, report lifecycle management, quality assurance, issue resolution, team development and stakeholder engagement across HR reporting operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Own the day-to-day operations of Workday reporting, including report intake, prioritization, assignment, quality review, administration, case management and ongoing maintenance

  • Lead and manage a team of 2 to 3 individual contributors responsible for Workday reporting, analytics support, report administration and content governance

  • Establish and maintain Workday report nomenclature, metadata standards, naming conventions, report descriptions, ownership documentation and lifecycle controls

  • Govern and administer reporting content within the People Analytics Marketplace/Hub, ensuring content is accurate, current, wellโ€‘organized and easy for stakeholders to understand

  • Build, test, maintain and optimize advanced Workday reports, including Matrix Reports, Composite Reports, calculated fields, dashboards, discovery boards and scorecards

  • Lead quality assurance activities for new and existing Workday reporting solutions, including validation, peer review, user acceptance support and production monitoring

  • Develop and maintain documentation, data dictionaries, report inventories, user guidance and governance materials to support consistent reporting practices

  • Partner with HR, HR Technology, HRIS, Payroll, Finance, Compensation, Talent, HR Business Partners and business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate requirements into scalable reporting solutions

  • Elicit complex business requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops and workflow analysis to define reporting needs, intended users and business outcomes

  • Set and lead execution of the Workday reporting plan, including strategies and templates to present HR data in a meaningful, consistent and actionable way

  • Ensure Workday reporting aligns with HR data governance, privacy, compliance and security expectations, including appropriate access, usage and handling of sensitive employee data

  • Troubleshoot reporting, data and system issues, taking ownership through resolution and engaging crossโ€‘functional partners as needed

  • Identify opportunities to optimize reporting processes, reduce duplication, improve report usability and strengthen trust in HR data

  • Provide coaching, feedback and development support to team members, including prioritization guidance, performance management and capability building

  • Communicate reporting insights, risks, operational updates and recommendations clearly to HR leaders and business stakeholders

  • Support ongoing and ad hoc HR reporting requests in a highโ€‘volume, fastโ€‘paced environment while balancing operational needs, governance standards and stakeholder expectations

  • Promote reporting best practices and provide informal training or coaching to stakeholders and team members on Workday reporting, data interpretation and reporting standards

Technical Skills:
  • Advanced Workday reporting experience, including Workday Report Writer, Matrix Reports, Composite Reports, calculated fields, dashboards, discovery boards and scorecards

  • Strong understanding of Workday HCM data structures, business objects, security considerations and reporting dependencies

  • Experience with report governance, report lifecycle management, metadata management, naming standards and documentation

  • Experience with Workday Prism, data models or related analytics tools preferred

  • Proficiency with Excel and data validation techniques

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, ThoughtSpot or similar platforms preferred

  • Ability to review, validate and improve reports created by others for accuracy, usability and alignment to business purpose

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of HR data, workforce analytics, Workday reporting and HR business processes

  • Ability to manage complexity, evaluate ambiguous information and define practical solutions

  • Strong planning, organizing and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastโ€‘paced environment

  • Demonstrated ability to build effective teams, set clear expectations and hold team members accountable for delivery and quality

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex reporting and data concepts into clear, practical business language

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Computer and Information Science, Accounting, Human Resources, Analytics, Data Science or a related field

  • 10 to 15 years of general experience in data, analytics, reporting, HR systems, business intelligence or related disciplines preferred

  • 3 to 6 years of managerial experience preferred, including experience leading direct reports or crossโ€‘functional reporting resources

  • Significant handsโ€‘on experience with Workday reporting required

  • Experience leading reporting governance, report operations, data quality or analytics administration within HR or a similarly complex function preferred
