About the Role
The Grounds & Maintenance Associate is the driving force behind Outdoorsy Bayfield's outdoor aesthetic and overall functionality. Taking pride in maintaining a pristine, welcoming environment, you will keep our exterior grounds in top shape, sparking adventure, intrigue, and excitement for every guest who visits.
This is a seasonal role.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
  • Technical Repairs: Execute skilled repairs across multiple trades, including HVAC, plumbing, minor electrical, and carpentry.
  • Structural Maintenance: Perform prompt interior repairs such as sheetrock/wall patching, painting, lock changes, and fixture replacements.
  • Preventative Inspections: Conduct periodic property walk-throughs to proactively identify and diagnose malfunctions in building systems and equipment.
  • Aquatics Management: Oversee swimming pool operations, including daily cleaning, equipment maintenance, and the precise logging of chemical levels.
  • Curb Appeal: Ensure a pristine exterior through the daily cleanup of grounds, parking lots, and common areas.
  • Heavy Equipment Operation: Safely and consistently utilize industrial tools, including lawnmowers, chainsaws, and other heavy-duty maintenance machinery.
  • Landscaping & Grounds Care: Maintain outdoor aesthetic standards through routine ground repairs and seasonal upkeep.
  • Supply Chain Management: Monitor inventory levels, provide cost estimates for materials, and manage requisitions to ensure essential supplies are always in stock.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of inspections, repairs, and material inspections to ensure operational transparency.
  • Guest Relations: Provide professional, courteous, and timely service when interacting with guests and residents.
  • Operational Agility: Maintain a flexible approach to support the team through additional duties as assigned by management.
Who You Are
Core Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in operating and maintaining a variety of hand tools, power tools, and heavy-duty machinery (e.g., mowers, chainsaws).
  • Proven Experience: Background in professional gardening, landscaping, or general facility maintenance.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to independently diagnose mechanical or structural issues, develop efficient solutions, and execute the full scope of work.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A dedicated team player who communicates effectively and works seamlessly with other departments.
  • Detail-Oriented & Creative: A keen eye for property aesthetics and the ability to find creative ways to improve the guest environment.
  • Compliance: Must possess a valid Driver's License and maintain strict adherence to all company policies and safety procedures.

Physical Requirements & Environment
  • All-Weather Resilience: Ability to perform rigorous physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold).
  • Physical Stamina: Capable of standing or walking for 8 hours per day and lifting 15-25 lbs regularly.
  • Availability: Flexibility to work a schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by business demand.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Niche Experience: Prior experience in campground or resort maintenance is highly desirable.
  • Brand Alignment: A genuine passion for the outdoors and the guest experience in a nature-focused environment.

Benefits
  • Pay Rate: $18.00-$20.00/hour DOE.
  • Schedule: Full-time/Seasonal - 5 days on, 2 days off. Weekend and holiday availability as needed.
  • Availability: 8am-4pm.
