Job description

Title: Infrastructure Automation Engineer
Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid)
Duration: 6+ months

  • We are looking for an Infrastructure Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in AWS, IBM WebSphere, and Terraform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for automating infrastructure provisioning, WebSphere administration, deployment workflows, and configuration management across enterprise environments.
  • This role requires a strong foundation in cloud infrastructure, middleware operations, DevOps practices, and scripting. The candidate should be comfortable working in production-grade environments and driving automation to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and support scalable operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement infrastructure automation on AWS using Terraform.
  • Manage and automate IBM WebSphere Application Server administration tasks.
  • Build and maintain scripts for WebSphere configuration, deployment, and validation.
  • Support CI/CD pipeline integration using tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Automate environment provisioning, configuration changes, and deployment processes.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure and middleware issues.
  • Collaborate with application, DevOps, release, and platform teams for smooth delivery.
  • Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with security, governance, and enterprise deployment standards.

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, IAM, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, and Load Balancers.
  • Strong experience in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Hands-on experience administering IBM WebSphere Application Server.
  • Experience with WebSphere scripting using wsadmin and Jython.
  • Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or other CI/CD tools.
  • Good scripting knowledge in Python, Shell, or similar.
  • Good understanding of Linux or Unix systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Git-based source control and deployment workflows.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in enterprise middleware automation projects
  • Knowledge of WebSphere deployment, data source setup, SSL, JVM tuning, and thread pool management
  • Exposure to hybrid cloud or on-prem plus cloud environments
  • Understanding of release management and production support processes
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in infrastructure, middleware, or DevOps automation.
  • Proven experience working with AWS, Terraform, and WebSphere in enterprise environments.
