About this Position

Manage OSU Athletics information systems by providing the following: - Hire, train, supervise and evaluate athletics IT staff - Promote a teamwork approach and customer service focus within the athletics IT department - Coordinate the install, maintenance, and upgrading of computing systems/applications - Manage computer systems inventory by creating, implementing, and maintaining inventory control procedures - Active Directory Exchange, SQL Server, MS System Management, File/Print services and Windows Update services - Evaluate & recommend hardware and software solutions - Manage the computing budget by monitoring and controlling resources - Perform problem solving and troubleshooting for managed systems - Perform emergency and non-emergency diagnosis of unexpected system failure, performance degradation, and user reported incidents - Oversee support to system users & management staff, as required, for problem investigation and resolution, requirement definition, implementation, training, documentation, system evolution, system improvement, conversion, and other tasks as needed to provide a productive and efficient information systems environment - Manage the installation and monitoring of systems; this may include, but is not limited to log reviews, software installation, daily, weekly and monthly checklists based on pre-defined criteria - Provide and manage IT support for OSU Athletics events (occasional night and weekend hours will be required)

Required Qualifications
  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • 6 years of related experience in providing system administration, system/application support, budget management and supervising.

    Post-secondary education may substitute for years of required experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's

    MIS, Computer Science, Business or related field

  • 10 years related experience

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

Microsoft Certified Solution Expert/PCI Professional
