POSITION OVERVIEW

The Product ComplianceIMDSSpecialist Ioverseesproduct, environmental, and chemicalcompliance with respect tovariousinternationallaws, regulations, standards, and relevant customer specifications, providingcorporate support through theLegal department.

Location: This position requires on-site work at a Gentex facility. This role is not eligible for remote work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Interpret and apply international, federal, state, and local regulations related to chemical substances (e.g., TSCA, REACH,RoHs, GHS, CLP).

  • Maintain environmental product compliance tools (e.g., IMDS, CDX, Assent).

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on chemical productregulatory complianceand provide guidance on complex international chemical regulations.

  • In partnership within-houselegal counsel,understand and analyze regulatory specifications forallGentex industriesincluding automotive, aerospace, medical, fire protection,andconsumer productsfor U.S. and other global markets.

  • Educateengineering and program management teams on regulatory requirements relating to allproducts.

  • Assist with OEM and governmental regulatory and environmental surveys and questionnaires relating to productcompliance.

  • Support regulatory inquiries, compliance documentreviews,and communicate with impacted teams.

  • Analyze Engineering Change Orders (ECO) relating to product changes and make recommendations for compliance asappropriate.

  • Assistwithmaintainingthelatest revisions of regulations, standards,codesand customer specifications.

  • Perform ad-hoc compliance assignments delegated by Product Compliance Manager.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge Development - Continuously develop knowledge of regulatory requirement applications/tools to support Gentex business processes andculture.

  • Communicate Effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey clear understanding, considering the unique needs of different audiencesand ensuring confidential and sensitive information is handledproperly.

  • Complying withall Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.

  • Maintaininga high levelof honesty, integrity, and confidentiality with respect to company matters.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related field with a strong emphasis on chemical substance regulations.

  • 5+yearsprofessional experience inIMDS,Environmental,orChemicalComplianceProductRegulatoryroles.

  • Deep and comprehensive understanding of a wide range of global chemical regulations

  • (e.g., TSCA, REACH, RoHS, GHS, CLP, country-specific chemical control laws).

  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat,and Smartsheet.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and deadlines; ability to work independently, stay organized, and prioritize multiple tasks; flexibility to adapt to current and future responsibilities.

  • Ability to travel onoccasion.

WHAT WILL HELP

  • Experienceutilizingonline resources to research applicable rules and regulations, as well as

  • pertinentstandardsfordirection and guidance.

  • Prior service on ProductCompliance and/or RegulatoryCommittees.
