Position Summary

The Branch Manager II position at First Farmers Bank & Trust is responsible for leading a full-service, profitable branch. This role involves driving growth, managing branch operations, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The Branch Manager II will lead the Retail staff in achieving strategic objectives through continuous coaching and fostering professional development. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of the banking industry.


Leadership and Team Development:

  • Supervise, train, coach, and perform annual reviews for all branch personnel
  • Lead, mentor, and develop staff to ensure each branch meets performance, service, and operational goals
  • Facilitate weekly and monthly huddles with your staff to discuss sales opportunities and operational issues as well as to review and address subject matter determined by the Regional Team
  • Coordinate training of staff on all bank products and services on an ongoing basis
  • Ensure completion of all quarterly education courses

Customer Service: 

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and promoting a customer-centric culture 

Sales: 

  • Drive branch sales and business development efforts by proactively seeking out new bank customer relationships through targeted outbound calls
  • Identify and engage potential clients, set ambitious targets, and implement effective strategies to achieve substantial growth
  • Proactively engage with local businesses and leverage community events to expand the customer base
  • Focus on customer retention through exceptional service and relationship management to ensure long-term success 

Financial Management: 

  • Oversee branch financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense management
  • Ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness
  • Ensure the branch consistently meets its financial targets 

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure branch operations comply with all banking regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Manage risk effectively and ensure the security of branch assets

Operational Efficiency:

  • Review and provide reports to management
  • Take applications for all consumer loans including home equity line of credit applications
  • Determine fee refunds and settlement of the NSF list in conjunction with the Head Teller
  • Oversee the maintenance items for your branch, including the parking lot
  • Assist in counting tellers out when they are off more than $100 or with surprise audit counts
  • Test the branch security equipment and investigate security issues as needed
  • Complete the CD maturity list - calling upon all customers in question
  • Assist tellers and Personal Banker's in peak times to expedite the work flow
  • Provide back-up Head Teller duties in absence of an Assistant Branch Manager
  • Branch vault responsibilities including ordering weekly and balancing daily 
  • Ordering and maintaining branch supplies 

Community Engagement:

  • Represent the bank as a dedicated community partner by building strong relationships with key stakeholders and actively participating in local events and activities
  • Present financial literacy programs to educate clients and the broader community on effective financial management, fostering a sense of financial empowerment and community well-being

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments, including treasury management, mortgage officers, commercial lenders and marketing teams, to ensure seamless service delivery and achieve business objectives

Market Analysis:

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities and threats
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management

Financial Analysis:

  • Assess the financial needs of clients and recommend suitable banking products and services, emphasizing the importance of personalized service tailored to each client's unique circumstances
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of their financial goals and provide customized solutions that inspire confidence and trust
  • Additionally, assist in preparing financial proposals and presentations for clients as needed

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma
  • Must have 2 years of people leadership/management experience
  • Able to build and maintain relationships within the business community including participation with community organizations and community projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in banking 
  • Proven ability to implement sales and business development strategies

Skills 

  • Good sales and computer skills, and a proven ability to develop business opportunities are necessary
  • Should be analytically minded and possess good judgment
  • Ability to manage branch-banking personnel engaged in retail operations to achieve profit, growth and customer service objectives within bank policy guidelines
  • Must demonstrate management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite

Work Environment

  • Primarily office or branch-based environment with standard business hours. Occasional travel to other branch locations or community events may be required
  • Daily extended use of banking software, secure digital platforms, and standard office equipment
  • Repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds as needed
  • Moderate business traveling
