Job description

HTI is seeking an Automation Manufacturing Engineer for a global automotive manufacturer in Morristown, TN. This hands-on engineering role is focused on supporting highly automated assembly equipment, troubleshooting production issues, and driving continuous improvements across the manufacturing floor. You'll work closely with maintenance, production, and quality teams to maximize equipment uptime, improve productivity, and support new equipment and process improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is Direct Hire, M-F 1st shift. The pay range is $80,000 - $100,000/yr depending on experience. What They Offer: Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance with HSA/FSA Options + 401(k) Company-Paid Life Insurance, Disability Coverage & Employee Assistance Program Wellness Program with Incentives and Telehealth Services Paid Time Off, Holidays & Opportunities for Career Growth What You Need: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering field (or equivalent experience) 3-5+ years of engineering experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment Strong troubleshooting experience with automated equipment utilizing HMIs, FANUC robots, IAI automation, and complex tooling/fixturing Experience analyzing production and statistical data to identify improvements and develop presentations Strong understanding of fixture design, tooling design, and gage design Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing environments Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems Ability to prioritize multiple projects and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Automotive manufacturing experience is preferred PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus Knowledge of IATF-16949 procedures What Your Role Will Look Like: The Automation Manufacturing Engineer will support daily manufacturing operations by troubleshooting automated equipment, improving production processes, reducing downtime, and driving quality and productivity improvements. This role partners closely with Maintenance, Production, and Quality while supporting new equipment, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives. Troubleshoot automated assembly equipment to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability Support equipment utilizing HMIs, FANUC robots, IAI automation systems, and complex tooling and fixtures Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve equipment performance Analyze production data and statistical trends to identify opportunities for quality, productivity, and cost improvements Develop engineering reports and present recommendations to support manufacturing improvements Support new equipment installations, startup activities, and capital improvement projects Improve fixture, tooling, and gage designs to optimize manufacturing performance Create and maintain engineering documentation including work instructions, process documentation, and technical reports Perform process capability studies and support continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with Maintenance, Production, and Quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve overall equipment effectiveness Assist with additional engineering projects and manufacturing support as needed About HTI Human Technologies, Inc.
