Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department by administering Human Resource policies, fostering positive employee relations, and ensuring consistent execution of HR processes. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong interpersonal skills and a solid foundation in Human Resource practices and employment law. The Human Resource Generalist collaborates closely with leadership and the broader Human Resource team to advance organizational goals, drive process consistency, and cultivate a culture of employee engagement and accountability. This role contributes to ERMCO's POWER values by delivering high-quality results that drive efficiency, customer satisfaction, and business performance.
This role will be onsite in Dyersburg, TN. Relocation Assistance is available.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and supervisors regarding HR policies, procedures, and general inquiries.
  • Support employee relations activities by addressing concerns, documenting issues, and escalating complex matters as needed.
  • Assist in administering and maintaining HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook guidelines.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance management processes, including documentation and corrective action support.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR data in HRIS and personnel files.
  • Assist with compliance-related activities by ensuring documentation is complete and practices align with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Prepare and maintain HR reports, metrics, and audit documentation.
  • Support onboarding and employee transitions by coordinating paperwork and ensuring a smooth experience (administrative support only).
  • Partner with leadership to promote consistent HR practices and a positive work environment.
  • Participate in audits, investigations, and internal reviews by gathering information and documentation as needed.
  • Monitor and help ensure adherence to workplace policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Contribute to employee engagement efforts, communication initiatives, and HR projects.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as assigned.

Qualifications
Education or Equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification a plus.
Knowledge & Abilities
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, EEO, etc.), with the ability to interpret and apply them consistently across HR functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with employees, managers, and leadership at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of core HR practices, including employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, and performance management, with the ability to support each area competently.
  • Ability to assess situations objectively, recommend fair and consistent solutions, and contribute to continuous process improvement efforts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), with working knowledge of HRIS systems and HR recordkeeping requirements.
