Job description

About Musixmatch:
Musixmatch is the leading music metadata company, featuring the world's largest lyrics catalog and a community of over 80M contributors. Musixmatch is the trusted global  partner of companies like Spotify, Apple, Amazon Music, Meta, Google, YouTube, Tidal, and Snapchat and works with nearly 4,000 music publishing rightsholders (representing more than 225,000 songwriters), including Sony Music Publishing, Universal Music Publishing, Warner/Chappell, Kobalt, BMG Rights, and the Harry Fox Agency.
We are a bunch of creatives who care about our work and what we do.  We believe that participation and collaboration are key to getting things done well.  We are looking for tech-savvy people who are eager to learn in a fast-paced environment, who have an international outlook on life, and who love taking on new challenges.
Position:

We are looking for an AI-First Product Manager to join our Catalog team. In this role, you will own and evolve the internal and external tools that power Musixmatch's music catalog operations, from lyrics ingestion and metadata enrichment to rights management and content quality workflows. You will work at the intersection of AI, music data, and product thinking, helping us build smarter, faster, and more scalable catalog infrastructure.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who thinks natively with AI tools, is comfortable in ambiguous environments, and is excited to shape how the world's music metadata is organized, enriched, and delivered.
What you will do:

Own the product roadmap for catalog tools, including ingestion pipelines, metadata editors, quality control dashboards, and rights attribution interfaces, prioritizing features based on impact and feasibility.
Design and iterate on AI-assisted workflows that help our editorial and operations teams process, enrich, and validate music metadata at scale.
Collaborate closely with engineering, data science, and content operations to define requirements, write specs, and ship product improvements in fast cycles.
Identify bottlenecks in catalog workflows through data analysis and direct user research with internal teams (editors, rights managers, curators).
Experiment with and integrate LLM-based tools, prompt engineering, and automation into catalog product features, staying ahead of what AI can do in this space.
Monitor key catalog quality and operational KPIs, using data to drive decisions and communicate progress to stakeholders.
Work with partner-facing teams to understand how catalog data quality impacts downstream integrations with Musixmatch partners
Contribute to defining best practices for AI-first product development within Musixmatch
Requirements:
1-3 years of experience in product management, product operations, or a closely related role (internships and strong side projects count).
A genuine AI-first mindset: you regularly use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Replit and other vibe coding tools) in your daily work and think instinctively about how to apply them to product problems.
Ability to write clear product specs, user stories, and acceptance criteria, communicating requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Comfort working with data: you can query basic metrics, interpret dashboards, and use data to justify product decisions.
Strong analytical and structured thinking skills: you break down complex problems into actionable steps.
Good communication skills in English (written and spoken); Italian is a plus.
Interest in music, music technology, or the music industry is a strong plus.
Nice to have:

Experience with metadata, content ops, or catalog systems (music, publishing, e-commerce, or similar domains).
Familiarity with prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, or LLM-based product features.
Exposure to tools like Jira, Coda, Mixpanel similar PM/analytics tooling.
Basic SQL or Python skills for data exploration.
Experience working in or with music rightsholders, DSPs, or publishing companies.
Knowledge of music rights structures (mechanical, sync, performance) and how they relate to metadata.
What we offer:

A front-row seat to how AI is transforming music metadata and content operations at global scale.
High ownership from day one: this is a role where your decisions ship to production.
A collaborative, international team that values curiosity, speed, and craft.
Flexible hybrid work environment based in Bologna, Italy.
Continuous learning culture with access to the latest AI tools and research.
The gross annual base salary for this role is 25,000-30,000. The package includes a variable performance bonus tied to individual and company goals, plus a flexible welfare credit to use on the benefits that matter most to you.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.
