How much do manager geophysicist jobs pay per year?

As of Jun 22, 2026, the average yearly pay for manager geophysicist in the United States is $95,411.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $70,000.00 and $112,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs pay $500,000 a year in the US?

In the US, high-level executive roles such as CEOs, CFOs, and other C-suite executives often earn $500,000 or more annually. Certain specialized professions like top-tier surgeons, investment bankers, and successful entrepreneurs can also reach or exceed this income level, especially with bonuses, stock options, or profit sharing. Manager Geophysicists typically do not reach this salary range unless they hold executive or highly specialized positions with significant experience and responsibility.

What is the difference between Manager Geophysicist vs Geophysicist?

AspectManager GeophysicistGeophysicist
CredentialsBachelor's or Master's in Geophysics, often with leadership experienceBachelor's or Master's in Geophysics, sometimes PhD
Work EnvironmentLeads teams, manages projects, oversees operationsConducts research, data analysis, fieldwork
Industry UsageUsed in oil & gas, mining, environmental firms for leadership rolesUsed across research institutions, exploration companies

The main difference between a Manager Geophysicist and a Geophysicist is the level of responsibility. The Manager Geophysicist oversees teams and projects, focusing on leadership and strategic planning, while the Geophysicist primarily conducts technical research and data analysis. Both roles require similar educational backgrounds, but the managerial position emphasizes leadership skills and project management experience.

What jobs will no longer exist in 2030?

By 2030, some routine and manual jobs such as traditional geophysical data collection and analysis roles may decline due to automation and advanced technology. Roles requiring repetitive tasks are increasingly replaced by AI, machine learning, and automated tools, impacting positions that do not adapt to new digital skills. Geophysicist roles that heavily rely on manual data processing may evolve or diminish as software and remote sensing technologies improve.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A Manager Geophysicist typically earns a high salary, often exceeding $10,000 per month, especially with extensive experience and specialized skills in seismic data analysis, subsurface modeling, and geophysical software. However, this role generally requires a relevant degree; high-paying jobs without a degree are rare and often involve entrepreneurship, sales, or skilled trades. Most well-paying geophysics positions require at least a bachelor's degree in geophysics, geology, or related fields.

What is the highest paid geophysicist?

The highest paid geophysicists typically work in the oil and gas industry, with senior roles such as Lead Geophysicist or Director earning salaries exceeding $150,000 annually, and sometimes reaching over $200,000 with bonuses and benefits. Factors influencing pay include experience, location, specialization, and the size of the employing company, as well as advanced skills in seismic interpretation and geophysical software.
