Job description

Overview
This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities:
  • Manages the full life cycle for ongoing multi-year and near-term projects, serving as liaison for program management and planning, project teams, and operational leadership.
  • Reviews status of project plans, budgets, and schedules, preparing status reports as needed. Prepare and present reports to stakeholders, including executives.
  • Assesses production issues and develops solutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer service deliverables.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with all stakeholders, including Project Managers, Line Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, Facilities, Tooling, Operations, Material & Process Engineering (MP&E), Finance, and external suppliers.
  • Ensure capital equipment meets defined capacity, throughput, quality and timing needs, and present capital equipment status updates to executive level stakeholders.
  • Integrate all projects for appropriate visibility, accountability, opportunities, risk mitigation, and needed resources and support.
  • Assists in training, mentoring, and developing team members while also suggesting process improvements, new strategies, and innovative concepts.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, along with the ability to work cross-functionally with accountability and minimal supervision.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 4+ years of related aerospace manufacturing experience involving heavy structures, such as fuselages.
  • Ability to create and present in-depth presentations to executive-level management.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience with commercial or government aerospace manufacturing.
  • PMP or other PMI Certification
  • Technical background in aerospace manufacturing to be able to work with cross functional teams.
  • Individual project management and tracking as part of a larger portfolio.
  • Expertise in scheduling development activities by project, appropriate to project scope, and proven ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously (coordination, status, and performance to plan).
  • Business acumen to quantify implications of projects and to coordinate effectively with Finance on tracking to plan.
  • Ability to manage with influence and provide leadership throughout multiple teams simultaneously.
  • Experience with SAP and MES, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster business partnerships with internal customers and external vendors.
  • Experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment, lean practices, and industrial engineering concepts.

Summary Pay Range - Mid-Level (Level 3): $76,150 - $116,800
