GRADE: POSITION SUMMARY:
As a valued member of the Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation, a lifeguard assumes a pivotal role in safeguarding the well-being of visitors. Lifeguards are the primary caretakers of the pool and perform maintenance duties and other operational tasks. They report directly to the Pool Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide emergency care and treatment.
- Enforces all department rules and regulations of the pool.
- Assists Pool Manager with daily operations.
- Assists or teaches lessons or other programs as assigned.
- Cleans the bathrooms and locker rooms.
- Performs a variety of maintenance tasks.
- Other duties may be assigned.

- Current lifeguard certification and CPR/First Aid certification.
- Must be at least 15 years of age.
- Capable of working a flexible schedule of up to but not exceeding 40 hours per week including holidays, weekends, and evenings (weather dependent).
- Ability to assist with lessons and with after hour events.
- Possess good communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
- Current FBI Fingerprint, PA Child Abuse, and PA Criminal Background Check clearances as required by law.
