What are some common challenges faced by a manager forecasting, and how can they be addressed?

One common challenge for a Manager Forecasting is managing the accuracy of predictions in rapidly changing markets or with limited data. This often requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as sales, marketing, and supply chain to gather timely insights and adjust models accordingly. Staying updated with the latest forecasting tools and techniques, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team, can help mitigate these challenges. Additionally, clear communication of forecast uncertainty to stakeholders is crucial for effective decision-making.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a manager forecasting?

To excel as a Manager Forecasting, you need strong analytical skills, expertise in statistical modeling, and a background in finance, economics, or a related field, often supported by a relevant degree. Familiarity with forecasting software, advanced Excel functions, and business intelligence tools like SAP or Oracle is essential. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities help you translate data insights and lead cross-functional teams effectively. These skills ensure accurate forecasts, support strategic decision-making, and drive business success.

What does a manager forecasting do?

A Manager of Forecasting oversees the process of predicting future sales, demand, or trends for a company. They analyze historical data, market trends, and business inputs to create accurate forecasts that help guide decision-making in areas like inventory, production, and budgeting. Their role often involves collaborating with other departments, leading a team of analysts, and implementing forecasting models or software. Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate insights effectively are essential for this position.

Job description

Sales Manager at CertainPath
Remote (occasional on-site) | Full-Time | Reports to: SVP of Sales
Lead the Team That Drives CertainPath's Growth.
At CertainPath, we're passionate about helping home service contractors build stronger, more profitable businesses. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an exceptional sales leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Sales organization and help shape the next phase of our growth.
As the Sales Manager, you'll lead a high-performing team of sales professionals responsible for generating new member growth while building the systems, accountability, and coaching that enable consistent results. You'll serve as the operational leader of the Sales organization—running the sales floor, developing talent, improving execution, and delivering predictable revenue performance.
If you're ready to lead a talented sales team, drive operational excellence, and make a measurable impact on the future growth of CertainPath, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do:
As the Sales Manager, you'll own the daily operating rhythm of our Sales organization by:
  • Leading, coaching, and developing a team of ~15 sales professionals responsible for Core Membership and Lead Generation revenue.
  • Ensuring the right lead is assigned to the right sales representative at the right time to maximize opportunity conversion.
  • Driving accountability through regular pipeline reviews, coaching sessions, forecast meetings, and performance discussions.
  • Owning team forecasting, pipeline health, CRM discipline, and sales execution.
  • Partnering with Marketing, Member Experience, and executive leadership to improve lead quality, sales processes, and organizational performance.
  • Delivering consistent, predictable revenue growth through disciplined sales management.
What We're Looking From in our Sales Manager:
We're seeking a proven sales leader who knows how to build high-performing teams, not just close deals.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive B2B sales experience with a demonstrated track record of achieving revenue goals.
  • 5+ years leading high-performing sales teams in a consultative sales environment.
  • Experience managing frontline sales professionals responsible for team quota attainment.
  • Strong background in pipeline management, forecasting, CRM management (Salesforce preferred), and sales analytics.
  • Demonstrated success coaching experienced sales professionals and driving accountability through metrics and performance management.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in consulting, professional services, membership organizations, SaaS, or recurring revenue business models.
  • Experience scaling sales organizations within high-growth or private equity-backed companies.
  • Experience implementing sales operating systems and performance management frameworks.
Why Join CertainPath?
At CertainPath, you'll have the opportunity to make a measurable impact on a growing organization while helping our members build stronger businesses and better futures.
We offer:
  • The opportunity to lead a talented, high-performing sales team.
  • A collaborative, growth-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • The ability to influence sales strategy, operational excellence, and organizational growth.
  • Competitive compensation, uncapped commission opportunity, and comprehensive benefits.
If you're ready to build a world-class sales organization and help shape the future of CertainPath, we'd love to hear from you.
