Emerald Financial Group is a growing independent financial services practice of Thrivent. We take a broad-based approach to helping clients achieve multiple financial goals, with a primary focus on individuals and families who are approaching or currently in retirement and have at least $100,000 in investable assets.
Job Description
Position Summary
The Lead Advisor plays a crucial role in guiding clients towards achieving their financial and investment goals. This position requires a deep understanding of financial planning, investment strategies, and client relationship management. The Lead Advisor will lead a team of advisors, provide strategic direction, and ensure the highest level of service to clients. The Lead Advisor will be employed by Emerald Financial Group. As such all existing and new clients of the practice will remain that of Emerald Financial Group and not that of the Financial Advisor. We are open to individuals who do not have financial services experience but possess a proven track record of success and experience in leading a Sales Team.

  • Previous experience leading teams
  • Experience assessing client needs, identifying/recommending solutions, and building/managing client relationships
  • Previous sales experience preferred but not required.
  • Prefer at least 5 years' industry experience but may consider a strong candidate with less experience.
  • Previous experience with Salesforce, MoneyGuidePro and Morningstar

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of financial advisors to achieve strong performance and professional growth.
  • Drive business growth by expanding the client base and increasing assets under management.
  • Maintain accountability for personal and team revenue goals.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory, compliance, and ethical standards.
  • Provide comprehensive financial planning and investment guidance to prospective and existing clients.
  • Communicate complex financial strategies clearly and effectively.
  • Oversee trade execution, insurance analysis, suitability review, and client account changes with accuracy and care.
  • Maintain required licenses, certifications, and continuing education.
  • Represent the firm through client meetings, seminars, community engagement, and business development activities.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Securities (Series 7 and 66 or Series 7, 63 and 65) and resident state Life, Health and Annuities registration.
  • Satisfactory background check, fingerprinting and securities registration and/or insurance licensing verification, if applicable.

Thrivent Investment Management is the sponsor for FINRA registration, and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is the sponsor for insurance licensure.
