Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Finance Manager to guide planning, analysis, and reporting efforts that support strategic business decisions in Burlington, Vermont. This role will partner closely with senior leadership to evaluate financial performance, uncover risks and opportunities, and strengthen both near-term results and long-range planning. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, people leadership, and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear recommendations.


Responsibilities:

• Lead financial planning and analysis activities that help the organization assess performance, manage risk, and support short- and long-term objectives.

• Oversee high-impact analytical projects, interpret results, and present practical recommendations to senior leaders regarding investments, business initiatives, and financial outcomes.

• Partner with cross-functional leaders to evaluate operational trends, key business drivers, and overall financial results across departments.

• Conduct detailed variance reviews comparing actual results to prior periods, forecasts, and standard costs to identify performance gaps and improvement areas.

• Build and refine financial and cost models that provide decision support for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.

• Develop financial strategies that align departmental priorities with the organization’s broader goals and future direction.

• Recommend and help implement action plans designed to improve financial performance, efficiency, and reporting accuracy.

• Maintain strong relationships with external financial stakeholders and represent the organization with credibility.

• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals to ensure accurate analysis, timely reporting, and continuous growth within the function.

• At least 7 years of experience in financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, or a closely related finance leadership role.
• Demonstrated success leading, coaching, and developing team members in a high-performance environment.
• Strong ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-moving setting with shifting business demands.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate insights clearly to leadership.
• Well-developed organizational, planning, and time management skills with a consistent focus on results.
• High standards of ethics, professionalism, and accountability in financial management and decision-making.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience with annual reporting, forecasting, long-range planning, and ad hoc financial analysis.
